Flynn’s Walk is working to bring together the community, encourage meaningful conversations, and spread awareness of the mental health challenges faced by veterinary and para-veterinary professionals, in their line of work.

We walk and talk to help break down the stigma surrounding su***de and mental health more broadly. Through the public walk events, Flynn’s Walk is raising the profile of veterinary mental health and educating the community about how they can have a positive effect when taking their pet to the vet.

Flynn’s Walk invites everyone to join, including adults, children and pets are warmly welcome to attend the event to join in the walk along the beautiful Riverwalk, and are invited to a picnic following the walk, with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a sausage sizzle!

The event commences at 9:30am, walking will begin at 10:30am.

🐴 It’s that time of year again. Welcoming 2022 breeding season 🐴
We offering our breeding package again this year.

Total $600.00 per mare – plus travel fee

This fee applies to ultrasounds and artificial insemination (chilled only) performed by Dr Sophie-Anne Starr during the 2022-2023 breeding season for two oestrous cycles.

What is included in this fee?
• All manual and ultrasound follicle tests
• Ultrasound scans for pregnancy up to 45days (usually 15, 30 and 45days)
• Artificial insemination (chilled only) and equipment required


What isn’t included in this fee?
• Routine hormones, pre and post breeding uterine lavage and associated medications, and caslick procedures
• Swab sampling and Lab Fees
• Assessment and manual crushing of twins, and associated medications
• Certificates: Pregnancy, Broodmare for sale or Insurance.

Fee is payable at first ultrasound, if not you will be billed on an individual fee basis.

💉 Hendra Virus Vaccine 💉

Since having a positive hendra virus case I have had a lot of questions about the hendra virus vaccine. Below is the dosage regime. If you have any further questions or would like to book an appointment please don't hesitate to give us a call on 1300 791 688.

🐴 All horses must be microchipped prior to administration of the first dose if not already microchipped.

🐴 For all horses 4 months of age and older.

🩺 Primary immunisation: Two doses 3 to 6 weeks apart.

🩺 A 3rd dose 6 months after the second primary dose is required, with further boosters to be administered every 12 months after the 3rd dose. Your horse is covered for 5 weeks after due date for booster vaccines.

🐴 Foals born to vaccinated mares should commence vaccination at 6 months of age.

🐴 Pregnant mares are not to be vaccinated during the first 6 weeks after conception or the 2 weeks prior to the expected foaling date.

💥💥💥 Attention 💥💥💥
There has been a positive hendra case in Mackay, QLD this week. There hasn't been a case in 5 years. This is a terrible situation for all involved. It's a reminder that this fatal virus is still out there and we have to be vigilant. Good personal hygiene and biosecurity is key. Our only other protection against this virus is vaccination. If you are wanting to get your horse vaccinated or would like more information on the vaccine please don't hesitate to contact us on 1300 791 688.
