Last night at the AGM, UQSAMS took out not one, but TWO awards all because of YOU! 🎉

SAMS won “Best Event” from the Advanced Suturing Workshop and “Peoples Choice” from the 10+ events that were organised this year.

We just wanted to thank YOU, our members, for a wonderful 2024 and for voting for us in the SIG Awards. We are grateful for your support this year, with high attendance at the events/workshops and interests in the VMC immersion program and merch orders.

We have had a successful year and very happy to be passing the baton over to the 2025 exec team to continue interests and skills in the Small Animal world. (2025 exec photos coming soon!)

Thank you to the wonderful students who attended the Anaesthetic Workshop with VetPrac last week!

Students were divvied into groups and worked through how to set up an anaesthetic machine, including machine testing, leak testing and selecting the appropriate sized breathing circuits. The night ended on a high to see which group could assemble the machine as quickest as possible with minimal mistakes!

Thank you to Dr Margie McEwen and Dr Oriana Marchetti for your time and knowledge. And the CSC for renting us the space and equipment. A lot of work goes into organising workshops such as this, so we are extremely appreciative. Finally, thank you to our sponsors who enable us to run events like these to further the skills of future veterinarians 💙
