Hi All,

This is your reminder or trigger to check your pet’s nails. This particular dog you could not see the nails.

1. Due to thick feet hair
Some breeds even if clipped regular grown thick feet hair quite quickly like the spaniel breeds.

2. They were actually curled and crossed over under the foot so not sticking out and obvious.

I’m not here to judge and I understand life happens and we get busy.

Not one of my clients ever wants to hurt or neglect their pet. If that was the case they wouldn’t be coming to me in the first place.

Check your cats nails too, as they get older sometimes they get thicker and they are unable to retract them properly and that then causes gait issues and pain.

Share and educate, not hate.

Miss Daisy before and after her groom today.
She was long and matted and become difficult for mum to keep on top of brushing.
So in for a big hair cut today and much more manageable again.

Especially when she likes to roll in mud. 🌼

Archie’s mum was a little worried prior to Archie coming for his groom.
Archie has been mistreated in the past, and also isn’t a fan of being groomed in general.

I can honestly say he was a good boy and handled his groom like a champ.

Well done Archie 💙

I should mention his sister come in also, but she is use to being groomed and much more confident in general.

Henry the perfect boy.
Here at Jazzycat we always clean out and remove the excess fur between the toes. Stops unwanted slipping and sliding on tiles.
Less prickles and burrs getting caught.

Chilli during his grooming yesterday.
Chilli had a bath, was blow dried and had a brush out followed by a nail trim.

Most cats do not require bathing as they clean themselves. Chilli’s bath was for a freshen up and to help reduce a lot of loose fur.

Although I can’t say he was thrilled about the process, he was a very good boy and accepted his fate and let us do what was required without any fuss.

His sister Sierra was the same.
Look forward to seeing them next time.

Alfie 4 month Cavoodle a little ball of energy and joy.

First ever grooming session today.
This is a crucial groom and sets them up for the future.

First groom is more about exposure.
We do the face, feet, bottom and in this little ones case very lightly across the body to get use to the noise and being handled.

Here at Jazzycat we try to make it as stress free and a positive experience no matter what age or temperament your pet is.

Being winter we want to keep our pets coats longer.

But did you know that maintaining their regular grooming schedule or even increasing it will give us better odds of doing this.

Once your pets coat becomes matted it doesn’t leave us much choice and we have to use a length blade that allows us to get under the mattes without causing pain. Or a lot, and I mean a lot of combing which is time consuming and not very comfortable for your pet to stand through.

By regular grooming we can look after their coat keeping it matte free allowing us to keep the length.

Jackets, harnesses and collars can all contribute to matting so make sure your pets coat is combed through if been in a harness, collar or jacket.

Maintenance grooms are also cheaper than a full groom.

What does a maintenance/hygiene groom consist of?

Warm Hydrobath
Wash
Dry
Nails
Clipping/scissoring face, bottom,feet and shortening problem areas if needed.

Basically an overall tidy up keeping your pet fresh.

Our larger breeds will also benefit from a good hydrobath and blowout keep their coats healthy throughout the winter.
