Doesn't miss maple look absolutely stunning after her pamper today?!
She comes in every 4 weeks for a pamper, so she never has to look scruffy before her next groom, Her shedding has decreased and her fur is growing in so healthy and shiny in places that had been damaged by a previous groomer.
Did you know that regular grooming and a good diet can help with coat growth and growing in fur that has been damaged due to shaving or other things like that! ♡

Here at Journeys Pet Care We love nothing more than too see the smiles on our customers faces when they get to see there freshly groomed pup!
We have a few appointments available this week, with some even after working hours for those who work big days, potentially even a spot for a lucky pup on Wednesday to spend the day with us for daycare and to get a pamper! We have to admit... how cute is this handsome man 😍😍
For his first groom, he was incredible, it's so important to practice grooming at home and get your pup used to heaps of things! Such as water, dryer, vacuums, brushing and even clippers by running an electric toothbrush across them to mimic the vibrations of a clipper! ♡
We also have some last minute availability for this week for grooming and 1 spot on Wednesday for daycare from 8am-530pm be sure to reach out to book!! ♡

Today we had the pleasure of grooming miss maple, .aussieshepherd
Did you know that regular grooming for double coated dogs is the secret to reduce shedding 🤫
The brushing and upkeep of a double coated dog is so important to maintain a healthy and gorgeous looking coat, as demonstrated on the gorgeous Maple below!
Maple is an Australian Shepard and her parents are amazing with there at home upkeep.

Fun fact! Double Coated dogs actually have 2 layers, a undercoat with the purpose of insulation, sun and wind protection and then a top coat used for keeping the undercoat dry and protected so it can do its job properly!

The biggest myth is that shaving a double coated dog keeps them cooler and reduces shedding! This actually does the complete opposite, the fur never grows back properly and the undercoat is exposed to the elements rather than the top coat! This means that your pooch will over heat easier, get extremely colder in winter and have alot higher of a chance to get sunburnt resulting in potential sun cancer.

Very special rare post for us. As some of you know, i run a small rescue on the side of my buisness.
We are in search of a very very special home for miss koda, koda is an almost 4yr old koolie x border collie.
She has the sweetest sole and is the most unique pooch you'll ever meet!
She comes with one unfortunate fact, she dispises other dogs, her previous owner has spent countless hours and money on trying to resolve this, but I guess she just doesn't want a friend!
So she must go to a only pet home, we would much prefer her to have property of some sort, or someone who is willing to walk her and take her on adventures where she can be by herself.
Ideally you would be home more often than not as she is a bit of a runner when left home alone and has escaped a couple times looking for her owner!

Well, safe to say that miss Luna made our day without even trying!!
Luna is a mini moodle pup who got her first introduction to grooming, groom today. She did so well! Didn't move a muscle the whole time and stopped for kisses frequently.

As a groomer, it is so refreshing to see a properly brushed and Cared for poodle mix! We welcomed Mr Jeff into the salon with open arms and his parents wanted to keep some length on for the winter, due to there care for his coat, this was done with no fuss! If you ever need advice or guidance when it come to coat upkeep at home, we are only a message away!

We have been so incredibly blessed with the support of the community and rescue assistance organisations.
This morning we received a Christmas box filled with goodies from Animal Rescues Appeal
We can't thank you enough for this blessing, it made all our furbabys mornings 💕
We don't post publicly about it but we also are a rescue organisation here at jpc, currently we have 3 in our foster care system, none of which are ready for adoption yet.
We continue to thank you each and every day for your support. Merry Christmas 🎄

My boy arley has fractured his lower spine and has some disc's that have been herniated. We need to keep constant attention on him, if not rested and healed properly we face the possibility of him becoming paralyzed and losing his back legs. Thanks everyone for your patience 💕

✨Daycare✨
If you need or know someone who needs a doggy daycare, be sure to reach out! $35 a day or $25 a day if you book 5 or more days!
Daycare is a great chance to get your pup exposed to new and stimulating environments. Especially if you have a covid pup! I have foster pups In and out of my house so there's always someone new for them to interact with ☺️ we have 6 different fully fenced play areas, with stimulations including ball pits, water pools, lick mats, snuffle mats and more!
They can even have a pamper while they stay!

✨ Delilah ✨
Miss Delilah deserves her own introduction post.
This is Delilah, she's just over 1yr old. She appears to be just your regular doggy, happy, wags her tail, cheeky and playful. But Delilah is deaf and blind, she was born this way. She is one of the most mind blowing dogs I've ever been lucky enough to interact with. I first met her at 5 weeks old when she was the size of a guinea pig and the sweetest little thing, from the moment I held her I fell in love. She came home at 8 weeks old and hasn't left my side since, although it's an unfortunate thing for her to be the way she is, I wouldn't change it for the world, she's brought so much happiness into our lives. Her clumsy little ways and her strange noises make it all worth it! My whole business is based around her, and my love for unique animals. If you have a dog that is disabled, special needs, difficult or senior I am more than happy to help. Even if it's just babysitting for an hour to keep your sanity.
