Meet Izi 💛
This gorgeous little girl earnt the unfortunate title for our first snake bite patient of the year— Thankfully, her owner acted quickly, and with prompt treatment, she’s now on the road to recovery 🐾💪

Pictured: Nurse Megan carefully monitoring Izi's vital signs following multiple blood tests, supportive fluid therapy, and her antivenom treatment. We are sending this sweet girl all the love as she continues to recover! 💛

Last week, we had an unusual patient come through our doors at South Valley. A kind individual noticed a turtle at Balliyan Sanctuary with blood around its mouth. Upon closer inspection, they discovered a fish hook lodged in its mouth.

After a thorough initial assessment by our vets, the 1.7kg turtle was anesthetized so the hook could be safely removed. Following treatment, this resilient little patient was released back into the sanctuary where it belongs.

An important reminder to always dispose of your rubbish responsibly. Leaving waste behind can have devastating effects on our wildlife and the environment. Let's all do our part to protect the planet and its creatures! 🌏

• Wednesday 25th (Christmas Day) CLOSED
• Thursday 26th (Boxing Day) OPEN 8-12 for Urgent/Emergency appointments only
• Friday 27th - OPEN for normal trading

Given that we are well and truly into the silly season now 🎁
Please make sure you get in early if you need food and/or medication ordered as our suppliers will be closed for a few days on either side of Christmas.

It's that time of the year again 🎅📸🐶

South Valley is doing the annual Pet Christmas Photos to help raise money for our friends at .rescue, who work tirelessly for animals in need around Geelong and surrounding suburbs.

So mark your calendars and bring your fur babies down to the clinic between 8am-12pm on Saturday, the 7th of December, to get a gorgeous picture just in time for Christmas while also supporting a local animal welfare organisation.

$10 donation with all proceeds going directly to The Yellow Door Rescue and Rehoming.

We can't wait to see you all 🎄🐾

This sweet little boy was found sitting on the side of a footpath the other day by a member of the public. Thankfully uninjured, but it was obvious by how little he was (85gm) that he needed to be cared for if he was to survive 🩵

If you find injured or orphaned wildlife, please always phone Wildlife Victoria or your nearest Vet Clinic for advice on how to handle the animal and situation.

We are so grateful for Wildlife Victoria and all their carers who work tirelessly to hand rear and rehabilitate our wildlife.
