We are so grateful for our friends at who have made multiple visits in recent weeks. Clint and his team provide mobile specialist services varying from ultrasonography, echocardiograms, to endoscopic procedures, allowing us to have in-house diagnostics performed in the familiarity of our own clinic.

Yesterday we bid farewell to Dr Jenny as she leaves her second home, here at South Valley Vet Clinic, to enjoy a very well deserved retirement 💐🩺

Over the past 16 years Jenny and Karminda built more than a successful business. They created an extended family of devoted staff and cherished clients.

We know everyone will share in the sadness we feel knowing we won’t see Jenny’s smiling face in clinic every day.

An incredible veterinarian with a wealth of knowledge, who knows how to brighten the room even on the most difficult days and who made everyone in her world feel valued, heard and loved.

We wish Jenny all the best on this new chapter. We will miss you immensely 🩷

Meet Cyril the Peacock 🦚

He's not the typical patient to come through the doors at South Valley but one that was welcomed with open arms by Dr. Lauren.

Cyril presented to us with a large swelling around his eye. After being anaesthetised, we were able to examine him more thoroughly and soon realised he had sinusitis. Lauren managed to help clear out a large amount pus from the area and anticipates he will make a full recovery in the coming days.

We look forward to seeing some updated photos of him living life on the farm.

Check out these yummy cupcakes from one of our clients with our patient’s photo printed on top 🤩🤩🤩 After a few weeks in hospital, Olive the 4y/o pug has come out on top after a case of severe pancreatitis!
Olive presented to us back in January, not eating, painful on palpation of the abdomen and very lethargic. A full blood panel indicated Olive had elevated amylase and lipase and would require fluid therapy and supportive care.
Despite some improvement, something was still not quite right and further diagnostics was recommended. After multiple blood tests and an ultrasound with specialist Clint Yudelman, we discovered Olive’s severe pancreatitis had led to a secondary cholangiohepatitis with bile duct obstruction.
With plenty of ongoing support, treatment and love, Olive is thriving and going really well!!

Amongst all the mayhem, Olive also welcomed a new baby brother into the family 🍼🥰 Congradulations xx

CASE OF THE WEEK 🩺

Meet Meg, a gorgeous little 10yo Pom x who presented to the clinic earlier in the week. Her owner had noticed a change in her urine stream over the last few weeks and visualised some blood in urine the past few days while toileting. This has been a problem for Meg previously so after obtaining a complete history, performing a urinalysis and examining Meg, there were concerns over bladder pathology. Radiographs were performed promptly which confirmed our suspicions.... a large bladder stone!

She went on to have surgery to remove the stone and is now on the road to recovery 🥰

⚠️ CAUTION-GRAPHIC IMAGES
Last week, Mango a 5y/o DSH cat presented to the clinic with a large abnormal bulge on the side of her abdomen. As the owners were unaware of any known trauma, radiographs were advised to determine a diagnosis.

The findings certainly shocked all......
Mango had herniated her abdominal organs, so they were sitting under the skin which required urgent repair. Thankfully, she has made a great recovery just in time for Christmas 🥰

We had so much fun this morning taking Christmas pet photos to help raise money for The Yellow Door - Rescue and Rehoming

With all the generous donations we received, we managed to raise $424.00. Thankyou so much to everyone who came down to show your support and get into the festive spirit with us 🎅🏼🎄

We look forward to this becoming an annual tradition within the clinic, we can give back to those who do so much while getting some gorgeous pictures of your fur babies 🐾❤️

Tis the season, and this year South Valley has decided to do a Wishing Tree throughout the month of December with all donations going to an non for profit organisation in our community🎄🎁

Throughout the year we have worked closely with The Yellow Door - Rescue and Rehoming so thought it was fitting to choose them, to show how much we appreciate what they do 💛

We would love to invite our clients and the community to participate in this wonderful initiative and support those who tirelessly work around the clock to help give these beautiful animals a chance to find their furever homes.

The organisation will be accepting new and used goods, bedding, food and toys ⚾️

We will also be taking Christmas photos for $10 on Saturday the 9th of December between 10 and 12pm with profits going directly to The Yellow Door - Rescue and Rehoming ✨️📸.

Ori came to visit Dr. Jenny for a behaviour consult at 18 weeks old, when his owners realised that Ori wasn’t like all the other puppies.

He had missed out on some very important socialisation with the breeder and had a very nervous temperament which caused him to become fearful in new situations.

When we first met Ori he was growling and wouldn’t allow us to touch him.

A combination of positive reinforcement training, medication and gentle socialisation and confidence building has changed Ori’s world!

Nurse Chelsea was present for the initial visit and the follow up visit with Dr. Lauren and couldn’t believe the difference in this confident and cuddly puppy!

Well done to his dedicated owners and well done Ori!!
