We also offer specialist surgical and medicine appointments and CT scans on various days during the week. Geelong Animal Emergency is open every night and all weekend for dog and cat vet emergency care. We treat trauma, vomiting, diarrhoea, snake bites, poisonings, spinal cases and a whole range of veterinary emergencies. We work closely with the vets in Geelong. In October 2017 we installed a 64 slice CT scan to service the pets in Geelong and Western Districts.

Wonderfull Wally definitely stole Nurse Bellas heart when he stayed with us this week. Wally was treated at his regular clinic for a potential snake bite and then transferred over to us for overnight care and monitoring. This very lucky boy is doing great 💖🥰 He is a great reminder that due to the unpredictable weather we have been having, snakes may be seen earlier than usual! Always be careful when you and your dog are out and about!

Classic Labrador Scout eating things she shouldn’t… 🫣🙄 Lovely Scout came to us after she was unwell at home and not herself. X-rays clearly showed that the naughty girl had eaten some tasty rocks! Surgery was performed to remove these and she is feeling much better and back to her cheeky self!

Lovely Red ❤️ The team absolutely loved this gorgeous big girl while she stayed with us for her seizure monitoring and control overnight! Red was doing well and got sent home in the morning with medication and lots of cuddles to follow 💞

Beautiful Molly came in today to say Merry Christmas and bring the team some treats. She has been a bit of a frequent flyer in her first 12 months but we are glad to be there to help her when she needs. Nice to see you Happy Molly 🥺😍

Well well well Arthur.. luckily this naughty boy was caught red handed when he decided to have a sock for dessert tonight. Arthur’s mum brought him straight down and we induced vomiting to get it out of his stomach. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson and we won’t need to see him back again 😅🤮

Beautiful Honey, the 10month old Greyhound, saw our specialist team on Friday. Honey presented to her regular clinic with a soft cough and not seeming herself a week ago and after a course of antibiotics not seeming to help, further diagnostics showed that cheeky Honey had eaten something she definitely should not have. A large metal nail was removed from her esophagus via a scope and she was discharged later that evening for rest and soft food. Honey should make a full recovery and be back to her usual self by no time! 🙌🏼🥰

Naughty, but adorable, Maverick got lots of attention and love during his stay with us overnight. Maverick stayed with us after having an ex-lap at his regular clinic where they removed a… wash cloth! We made sure he was comfortable and pain free and he was happily eating and showing great improvement so was discharged home in the morning! 😍

Handsome Ollie visited us after his owners noticed he had been limping on his back leg and became worse after having a great time and running at the dog park. Ollie had ruptured his cruciate ligament and needed surgery to repair it. Everything went well and Ollie spent the night to monitor his pain and get lots of pats. (Don’t let those sad puppy eyes fool you) 🖤😍

This is my dog Moose. Moose chewed up my sleep eye mask that’s important for me to sleep during the day after my night shifts. A quick trip back into work to make him vomit it up 🤢🤮 saved my family the worry of it getting stuck in his intestinal tract.
Emergencies happen to us all.

Our busy vet and nurse teams have been hard at it, helping so many people and their pets over the Easter long weekend. We’ve seen pets from Ballarat to Bacchus Marsh, clients from the Surf Coast to Corio, Point Cook and Werribee.
On Easter Saturday alone we helped over 90 worried family’s with cases ranging from chocolate ingestion, rat bait poisoning, hot cross bun ingestion……as well as performing surgery and managing the sick cases we have in hospital.

However we also work very hard on public holidays on behalf of the City of Greater Geelong to look after lost and stray pets, and find their families.
So far this weekend we have reunited nearly 30 lost pets with their family’s, through checking their microchip details and contacting their owners.
Please make sure these details are up to date so we can call and reunite you with your lost friend ASAP, and just know in the meantime they’ll be safe and warm with us in hospital.
Geelong Animal Energency is here to help over the long w/e with consultations between 7am and midnight, and hospitalised pet care 24hrs a day.

Geelong Animal Emergency is here to help over the long w/e for all your pet’s emergency needs. We are open from 5pm Friday through to 10am on Tuesday. Please call on 5222 2139 and our team will talk you through the process on arrival.
We are expecting large numbers of escapee dogs this weekend with the fireworks and crackers. Please secure your yard and make sure your pet’s microchip details are up to date so we can call to you when they arrive with us. We can reunite you if your details are up to date.

Our Story

Geelong Animal Emergency is open every night and all weekend for dog and cat vet emergency care. We treat trauma, vomiting, diarrhoea, snake bites, poisonings, spinal cases and a whole range of veterinary emergencies. We work closely with the vets in Geelong.

Our practice has installed a new 64-slice CT scan and a high-level veterinary specific ultrasound machine to help our veterinary team make an accurate and early diagnosis permitting early (and often life-saving) treatment.

Specialist veterinary surgery and medicine services are now available in Geelong. Surgery consultations are Monday whilst medicine consultations are Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
