Come and spend some magical time at the beautifully restored Carousel at the Geelong Waterfront, overlooking Corio Bay. Entry to The Carousel Pavilion is free.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: The Carousel

Welcome to The Carousel page. The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world. Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored. There is also a replica 1898 Gaviol

i Band organ in the pavilion. Those wishing to ride the Carousel may purchase a ticket. Wheelchair access to the Carousel is available via a mobility lift. We host children's birthday parties, weddings, wedding photography and corporate functions. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

🏇 The Melbourne Cup trophy is set to visit Geelong as part of its global tour.

Geelong is one of 39 destinations across six countries that have been selected to host the tour.

🏆 The trophy will be stopping off at The Carousel on Wednesday 23 October between 10.00am and 12.00pm.

Community members can get a photo with the Cup, and there will be a range of activities on the day, including free Spring Carnival themed facepainting, free children’s craft events, and carousel rides for $5 per child.

Rockin’ Donuts will be onsite from 10.00am – 12.00pm.
