The GREAT committee is mindful of adopting and following processes that ensure the health

and safety of its members, volunteers and members of the wider community. In particular GREAT adheres to the government Public Health Orders in regard to Covid-19 and any other Orders relating to health and safety in the workplace and community. The GREAT centre and the market are visited by a diverse range of persons including those with health issues that may be impacted if they are exposed to the Covid-19 virus. GREAT also has a key group of volunteers who are in the category of greater risk for impacts to their health and wellbeing. GREAT has decided to follow many other organisations in the community to adopt a Policy and has taken the decision to implement it, so that any employees or volunteers must be fully vaccinated against this virus, to limit the risk to others who they may come into contact with during their paid or volunteer activities on behalf of GREAT.

Just to clarify for shoppers and vendors, as we seem to have a few nervous nellies out there. Tomorrow's forcast will be windy but warm. The forecast wind strength seems to be Forcast no stronger than 30 km/p/h in Gisborne. There are no gust forecast so it seems to fall within our safety guidelines. We urge everyone to use the B.O.M. website where you can get 3 hourly weather predictions specifically for Gisborne using the Met Eye map. Looking forward to a fabulous day.
October 5th 9 till 2.😎🥳

Sitting back and planning your weekend? Why not pop down to the Gisborne Market on Sunday 9am till 2 pm. Lots of great things to see, do, eat, taste. There is a display of cars from the Grand Tour Gisborne, in the reserve beside the market. Why not start your (insert shudder here) Christmas shopping early! Yeah I know , not even December but I hear some people are that organised! Oh and dont forget to change your clocks, daylight savings starts.

Just confirming that the market on Sunday Sept 7th is canceled. Had a few enquiries to confirm. It isn't a common occurrence, we do try to soldier on in most weathers. But in our current world we need to do our best to ensure safety for our vendors and patrons. Forecast is for winds that reach dangerous speeds when talking about marquees and displayed products and crowds. We are very disappointed to have to do this and will be more so if the BOM has got this wrong. We need to call it early enough so logistically cost and waste and inconvenience is kept to a minimum. And it a decision that can't be reversed. Our apologies to everyone affected, the joys of outdoor markets.

ATTENTION 😭🌬🌧🌬
Sadly we have made the sad decision to cancel Sept 7th market due to the weather forecast. High winds over most of the market hours will make it to unsafe. Hope everyone has a nice sleep in on Father's day. We apologize for the inconvenience.

So weather looks to be awesome tomorrow. Frosty start with a sunny day! Now don't forget to explore all our nooks and crannies, we only have 4. Our 'L' shaped market has 2 entry streets and we have 2 paths one near the Telegraph Hotel and one down near the courthouse. Make sure you catch all the interesting new vendors. Part of the fun is browsing through the stalls and meeting the makers. See you tomorrow. 😘

2 more sleeps. Well one and a half for vendors and volunteers. We keep reminding ourselves it is only once a month for the 6 am start! Our vendors are not so lucky. Often a regular event for them as they attend markets all over the state. Which is why we are so happy that people come and support our lovely market and the vendors. New vendors this month, a new doggie product vendor, new fresh pasta, new local local beer brewers, and if you are a golfing enthusiast we have a virtual golfing range. And so much more. Come and join us. 9 till 2 on Sunday.
