A whirlwind trip to Taupō, NZ! 🇳🇿

We made it just in time to watch the incredibly talented Vanessa Way compete before settling in for an unforgettable Carl Hester Masterclass at the National Equestrian Centre—what an experience! His knowledge, training approach, and effortless connection with the riders & horses were amazing to witness.

Beyond the equestrian magic, we’re also soaking up the stunning sights of Taupō and enjoying our lovely accommodation. Such a fantastic trip so far! 🙌🏻✨

I think Evie and I have recovered from Barastoc Horse of The Year 2025! Talk about jump in the deep end…we have lots to learn about this showing discipline, but we are having a lot of fun doing it! Thanks to Rowville for the brilliant float: gave it a real workout in the heat and 4 days of camping and show prep. Evie has never travelled better and we had everything at our fingertips. NRG your products really do make all the difference - Black Beauty was gleaming, she LOVES her StockGain Milkshakes at the end of every ride and ProPlaits kept my hair perfectly in place 😂. Best of all, the beautiful Evie was foot perfect, happy, relaxed, easy to prep and ride - I couldn’t have asked for more from her! Thanks also to Barastoc, the Judges, the Stewards and of course the Sponsors: State Title Rider 26 and Over B&B Saddlery (we were Top 10) and won the Barastoc Supreme Performer Small Show Hunter Hack!

What a fabulous day we had last week at Round 2 of our midweek summer series, with over 100 entries! This month we welcomed old and new friends and also offered Interschool classes, which was great to have you here, and we hope you all had a blast! Thank you to Denise (mum) and Andrea for pencilling all day…. Luciano D’Elia and Louisa Smith for an awesome day of judging. Looking out over the big arena, you’d never know that Yarra Valley Show Jumping Club had just hosted a massive 3-Day Show!

Bigger than Ben Hur, with so many combinations, I have to say the YVSJC crew are always an absolute pleasure to host. Friendly, fun, and incredibly professional, they also leave our grounds in immaculate condition—which we really, really appreciate here at Shirley Heights!

Christmas Showjumping Freshmans! 🎄 We thought the holiday season might mean fewer entries, but how wrong we were!
