There is a living intelligence beneath your feet - and it’s called mycelium! Mycelium spreads throughout the soil, flourishing abundantly, enriching it, and fostering connections between plants, forming a dynamic network for information exchange. These mycelium networks are comprised of fine, branching filaments called hyphae, which intertwine and extend across vast distances. Mycelial networks have existed on our planet for hundreds of millions of years, silently working away and enabling life to flourish. Mycelium is everywhere. It is the living, intelligent mind of the planet. The nervous system and immune system of the Earth. And without it, life simply wouldn’t exist. Interested in learning more about mycelium and fungi? Curious about growing your own mushrooms at home? Let’s explore the cyclical nature of mushrooms together! Mushrooms are the grand recyclers of nature. By understanding the cyclical principles that fungi embody, we can produce lots of mushrooms by growing them on widely available waste products such as straw and sawdust. By tapping into the power of fungi we can make use of otherwise discarded organic material and use it to sustainably create valuable food and medicine. This is one of the amazing characteristics of fungi and a big reason why they are truly incredible organisms to partner with! #mushroomcultivation #sustainablefarming #mushroomfarm #Mycology #Fungi #mycelium #fungilove #mycophile
Growing mushrooms is one of the most rewarding things you can learn to do!For me it’s been a journey of trying to best understand these fascinating organisms, patiently learning and discovering what they need to thrive. #mushroomcultivation #sustainablefarming #MushroomHarvest #EdibleMushrooms #fungifarm #fungilover #sustainablefarming
The mesmerising patterns of a mushroom’s gills are truly captivating.
For the fungus, the gills are the spore bearing structures that create and release spores throughout its habitat, ensuring the continuation of the fungus through future generations and new mycelial networks.
But to the mycophile or mushroom lover, the gills are a beauty of natural form and a living piece of art. The undulating pattern and striking contrast have entranced many throughout the ages.
One can ponder as to whether fungi - and nature as a whole - produce such beautiful forms merely as a result of the need for functional structures, or whether beauty itself is the basis for life to thrive and flourish. Could it be that beauty simply is what we see when we gaze upon functional, healthy and thriving form?
Whatever the relationship is between form and beauty, the fungi of the Earth have captivated us since time immemorial, and no doubt will continue to do so long into the distant future.

MycoCasa - Food | Medicine | Earth Immunity
After a period of transition and growth, MycoCasa is continuing the journey into the incredible world of mushrooms.
We’ve learnt a lot since leaving our old farm and we’re looking forward to sharing both knowledge and skills in the art of mushroom cultivation, as we connect with our community - both locally and in the virtual space - learning and growing together during this time of the mycocultural revolution.
Our core pillars remain the same:
Food. Medicine. Earth Immunity.
As we dive deeper into these, we’ll continue to explore how we can all better connect with mushrooms and partner with our fungi allies as we collectively create a better world for all.
