Whatโs got Lizzieโs tail wagging this chilly Thursday morning?
Some birthday fun with streamers ๐ฅณ
You would certainly be forgiven for not thinking that a Miniature Poodle and Labrador would make the best of play mates but Hugo and Toby are here to show you otherwise!!
We believe itโs important for dogs of all sizes to interact and learn to enjoy daycare together. We divide our playgroups according to energy levels, play style, social confidence and any specific needs that the dogs have.
This also means we get to see some adorable and unlikely friendships develop and blossom ๐
Keeping the dogs cool and happy on a hot day ๐
What does your dog like to do to keep cool?
Today for extra mental stimulation we did some sniffy activities with the dogs.
Whatโs your dogs favourite mental stimulation? Tell us (or show us) in the comments โฌ๏ธ
Today our daycare friends took matters into their own paws when deciding daycare needed a bit of a makeover. Check out our Pawcassos having so much fun creating new artwork for the daycare facility.
Today the wonderful Gwyn celebrated her 3rd Birthday with cupcakes for her friends ๐ฅณ
As you can see cupcakes are always a very welcome treat for the doggos and they double as a great opportunity to practise good manners with โleave itโ.
We hope youโve enjoyed your birthday, Gwyn! We love having you as a member of our social club family ๐
How adorable are todays school bus dogs arriving for their fun filled day? ๐
Our doggy school bus service collects dogs from your home and brings them to daycare for fun, stimulation and play. We then drop them home in the afternoon ready for some quiet time.
If your dog gets this excited to arrive somewhere we would love for you to tell us in the comments ๐ถ
Have you ever wondered about what skills we teach the dogs in our social club? We would love to show you! Lets start with gate manners.
Gate manners are a critical part of keeping our social club a safe and calm environment. It refers to the dogs not crossing the gate threshold without permission from an attendant and maintaining a low level of arousal around the gate, both very important safety components in our environment.
In the video you will see that we use humane, evidence-based positive reinforcement methods which means we don't need to use aversive tools like noise makers or spray bottles.
We add in distractions like toys, body movements, food and other exciting things to increase the criteria and really proof the behaviour.
We think our doggos are especially awesome at this skill. Let us know what you think!
