From Danielle Whatley;
Ella raced as “Ella Exceeds” and was purchased by my partner about 6 months ago. With him, Ella was ridden at subsidised lessons with Jo McFarlane courtesy of tasracing and has been a versatile mount for us since. She has competed in showjumping, TEXCA, the Mountain Cattlemen’s and regularly does general farm duties such as moving stock and checking irrigators. Ella is a small, chilled out but nimble little horse making her perfect for competing in a range of Tasmanian equine sports and we look forward to seeing what she can achieve in the future!
From Patrick Wadley;
I received Special Interest from Vu and Amanda Tu. He is a lovely natured horse that has been excellent to work with. I competed in the Open Stockmen's Whipcrack on him which I placed 3rd. I was also a flag bearer during the parade for the championship competitors. I am grateful for the opportunity created by both the Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen's Association and Off The Track Tasmania to showcase the potential of ex-racehorses as both work and pleasure horses. I intend on continuing to use Special Interest as a workhorse for mustering and gathering stock around my farm and to compete in future Mountain Cattlemen's events.
From Gemma King;
Sin N Tell, affectionately known as Harry, a 16-year-old gelding with a big personality. He has been off the track for quite some time and is owned by Reegan Heathcote. Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of riding him on the hunt field, at pony club events, and now at Cattlemens! Harry consistently offers a safe and enjoyable ride, and I’m incredibly grateful to both Reegan and Harry for the amazing opportunities they’ve given me.
Congratulations to all place-getters and participants!
