Do you have a passion for working with people with a mental illness or psychosocial disability?
We are looking for Disability Support Workers who will support and assist our participants to reach their goals independently, exercising their choice and control.
Kinetic Care Solutions is an NDIS Disability Support Service Provider. We specialise in In-Home Supports and provide Allied Health. We service the following areas: Greater Brisbane Area, Brisbane North, Ipswich, Logan, and Gold Coast.
We have MULTIPLE CASUAL Disability Support Worker roles available in our team for our participants on a 24/7 rostering system.
The successful candidate/s will be joining a passionate multicultural and LGBTI+ workforce that take pride in what they do. Reliability and communication skills are a must.
Skills and Experience
ยท Previous experience and/or qualifications in Mental Health is required. On-the-job and extra training will be provided by a MH CNC, and 24/7 support is available.
ยท Education in relevant area โ minimum Certificate III in Disability, Community Services, or Individual Support, or currently completing health-related undergraduate bachelorโs degree (Nursing, Paramedicine, Allied Health).
ยท Previous experience in supporting participants aged 7 and above with disabilities- including but not limited to- ADHD, ASD, Aspergers, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Drug Induced Psychosis, Depression, Anxiety and PTSD.
ยท Experience in dealing with complex and challenging behaviours, aggressive behaviour management, verbal de-escalation, restrictive practice, manual handling/hoisting and medication assistance will be highly regarded.
ยท Ability to maintain strong professional boundaries, follow direction and follow PBSP.
ยท Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills is a must. Notes will be written per shift, and thorough reporting is required.

Duties and responsibilities may include:
ยท Personal care: showering, dressing, and grooming if needed.
ยท Medication assistance.
ยท Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
ยท Community Access: social activities, grocery shopping.
ยท Assistance in travelling to medical appointments.
ยท Supporting clients in the use of mechanical aids and personal equipment including wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, slide sheets, moving boards and handling belts.
ยท Supporting clients who have mental health challenges.
ยท Supporting clients with complex and/or challenging needs.
ยท Follow the company policies and procedures and code of conduct.
ยท Monitoring the well-being of clients reporting and documenting on their progress (will require a smart phone or ipad/laptop for same).
ยท Participate in training as required.
