Happy New Year! Some changes are happening to Pawlite Pets…

🐶 While I navigate moving into more full time work, I will not be taking on any new pet sitting clients. Any current clients who wish to book in, there is limited availability due to work commitments.
While I absolutely love looking after your puppies, I am currently building a future career for myself which requires more energy and focus. I have loved meeting and caring for your pets but I’m currently being called down a different path.

🐕‍🦺 I will still be continuing dog walks and walk and trains. These will be solely on Monday’s. I currently have 2 spaces available for walks or walk and trains so get in touch if you’d like to secure a spot!

Thankyou to each and everyone of you who have supported my small business, I will keep you updated of what lies ahead for Pawlite Pets future 🤍

Please note this will only affect new bookings and clients. This does not affect current clients with bookings.

We are FINALLY holding our OPEN DAY!! 🥳

We are so proud with how far we've come since driving 5 days across Australia, with our feathered children 🐥🐦 (proud bird mummas here) from Perth to our new home town Gold Coast, just shy of 2 yrs ago.

As much as I wanted my new chapter over here to be working online with small businesses, particularly within the pet industry by mentoring & selling my online courses, I just couldn't stay away from being in the presence of animals, more so people's much loved furry family member & birds of course.

Come 8 weeks ago, my amazing team of volunteers (my partner & unofficial adopted GC fam 🤣) have helped me create my vision of a purpose built doggy daycare space that looks so.damn.pretty! 🌵🌴

👋🏼 Hello 2023!!
I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and New Years and enjoyed their time off!!
I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for everyone who has supported my small business in the past 10 months!

🤫 I have big things planned for this year and some big announcements so please keep your eyes peeled over the next few months!

📚 My books are now back open for this year! I’ve already had pet sitting bookings so the next few months are filling up quickly so get in now while you can!

🧠 On Wednesday I had my first training session with George! As a puppy we want to make sure we’re setting him up for success during his critical time period!

🐕 We’re focusing on creating independence so he doesn’t have complete meltdowns every time he is left on his own! We will also be adding some general obedience skills to work his little puppy brain!

Can anyone guess what breed he is?
So excited to watch him grow!

💔 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗛𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗦 💔

You can make positive changes in your dog's life today that will reduce their arthritis pain, reduce depressive symptoms and increase their life span.

🔥 Amount - many pet parents unknowingly are feeding too much food because they follow the feeding guidelines on the packaging -every dog is an individual, they need the amount of food that keeps them lean and that can take a bit of trial and error to get to.

We recommend fat dogs have their food reduced by 1/4 immediately unless there are medical issues you need to speak to your Vet about first.

🔥 Weight - Weigh your dog so you know your starting point and then weigh weekly on the same scales to you can monitor progress.

🔥 Treats - Stop giving treats for nothing. Humans often express their love to dogs via food but excess calories in treats is shortening your dogs life. Family meetings are often needed to get everyone on the same page.

🔥 Exercise - Every fat dog needs to move their body every day, even if that's only 100 metres to start with or even less if medically appropriate.

🔥 Vet - A vet visit is recommended for all fat dogs because they may now have disease processes in play. Ask for a full health blood panel.

🔥 No old dog should be fat, age is not an excuse. Medical conditions that increase weight such as Cushings can be managed with fresh food options vs kibble with a consult with a fresh food Vet, we can give you a recommendation.

🔥 Food - Pet parents unknowingly feed their dogs diets that aren't actually health food. We recommend you get your dog off kibble. You can download our Weight Loss guide here.

☀️Today I had my first walk & train session with Gabe and his pet parent!

➡️ Gabe just needs some more clarity of what’s expected of him on lead! We do this by using reinforcement but also corrections, while incorporating better lead handling skills!

🐶 We also will be focusing on lead reactivity to other dogs and how to keep him below threshold!

Can’t wait to see his progress over the next sessions!

𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗬 𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗘𝗥

This beautifully lean, muscular dog with good blood work is apparently being killed by its owner....how, you may wonder?

This is Ginger, she's my dog - a celebrity Vet told me directly on Instagram to "go kill some dogs elsewhere and get off my wall" because I asked them about a comment they made about feeding raw mince from the supermarket.

Whilst my own Vet isn't a fresh food feeder, they have never once made me feel bad for choosing to feed my dog a fresh food diet so why are some Vets so aggressively against this?

🧐 Their education from university usually does not support fresh food feeding. Vets are not taught how to manage medical conditions with fresh food feeding nor are they positively educated on the feeding model.

Universities often have commercial arrangements with kibble manufacturers and this can affect the type of nutritional education Vets receive.

They also may not be up on the latest which I believe was this situation was centred around i.e. that the Vet wasn't aware that Campylobacter can be isolated from both healthy and ill dogs.

🍗🍚 Vets often see the negative and uneducated side of fresh food feeding such as people feeding unbalanced diets like rice, meat, and veggies - there's more to feeding a balanced fresh food diet.

🤯 Kibble Manufacturers provide them biased education when stocking these foods in their clinic.

Welcome Rocco to the Pawlite Pets Pack!

🐩 Rocco is making the most out of our Walk & Train Packs! Together we’re working on his over arousal and reactivity around other dogs on lead. Plus some added on recall training.

✅ We are utilising marker words and reinforcement to create a better experience around other dogs. To do this we’re starting in environments that minimise interactions with other dogs while increasing food drive.

🙅🏼‍♀️ We are not bombarding him with other dogs to “get over it”. We are creating a better experience with dogs in controlled environments.

Our first two sessions have been great and I’m so excited to see more of his progress over the next few weeks!
