Replacing gutters due to accelerated deterioration is expensive.

Water ingress due to blocked gutters is expensive.

Looks a good one!

A nasty supercell is currently moving towards the Tweed Coast and Southern Gold Coast! This is the view of the storm coming into Banora Point, NSW. Damaging to destructive winds, large to locally giant hail and very frequent lightning are all likely with this storm.

Although Fire & Rescue understand water is a very valuable resource, they prefer to keep it in the truck tanks rather than in their station! 🚒

Seqwater will commence flood releases from Wivenhoe Dam at 12:00pm on the 17th of December 2024 due to continuing rain.

Struggling to get a hold of any roofers lately?

This is an ongoing problem we see around the Summer storm season every year and doesn't get any better.
Unfortunately, this is an extremely hectic time of year for everybody.

The roofers are absolutely run off their feet chasing leaks, laying roofs that have been booked for months, repairing storm-damaged properties, and engaging in make safes to try to minimise further damage and water ingress.

This Gold Coast strata property is being proactive and engaged Independent Roof Inspections for a full condition report.

The client has confidence knowing our senior inspectors are trade-qualified roofers with a minimum 10 years experience in the industry.

The images show a step in the roof with a barge flashing creating a blockage of water flow with ponding water and dirt/grime buildup.

This will result in a shortened lifespan of roof sheeting and significant leak threat if no action is taken or not identified in time.

Whilst dealing with storms and flooding, it is easy to forget Australia is also heading into bushfire season. 🔥🔥🔥

This is yet another reason why we should pay attention to maintaining our roofs and drainage systems.

🔥 Fuel for the Flames

Leaves, twigs, and other organic debris are highly flammable. When dry, they can ignite easily from embers generated by nearby fires. If these materials are allowed to accumulate in gutters, they can catch fire and spread flames directly to the roof and eaves of a building. In fact, research has shown that most home ignitions during bushfires occur due to direct flame contact or radiant heat from nearby fires, making gutters a critical area to monitor.

🚒 As we prepare for the bushfire season, we must recognise the potential dangers on top of, and around, our commercial properties and homes.
Leaves in gutters may appear to be a minor issue, but they pose a significant risk that can lead to devastating consequences.

In case you didn't see our post yesterday... Some more storms around today in NENSW & SEQLD... A south to south east wind change is expected to trigger scattered storm activity across NENSW from around lunch time onwards. Storms will initially head north east before turning more northerly when crossing the NSW border. It should be a nice day in SEQLD with the storms arriving very late in the afternoon and into the evening. Most cells have a risk of brief heavy rain, strong winds and small hail but a few could get going enough to reach severe criteria with large hail. Storms will initially head north east before turning more northerly when crossing the NSW border. It should be a nice day in SEQLD with the storms arriving late in the afternoon and into the evening. Most cells have a risk of brief heavy rain, strong winds and small hail but a few could get going enough to reach severe criteria with large hail.
