Yesterday was a pretty amazing day at KCC park, still very much on a high and extremely proud of our first bred Bitch.
Kya finally worked out nibbling on my dress isn’t nearly as much fun as pulling in front.😂

The GSDCA conducts a nationally accredited Breed Survey Scheme for the betterment of the breed. At 18 months of age or over dogs are presented to a panel of GSDCA Breed Surveyors to be assessed for their worthiness as a breeding prospect. Areas to be assessed cover temperament, character, gun sureness, anatomical attributes, movement and general soundness. Major faults of temperament result in failure of the Breed Survey. Potential breeding partners are recommended according to the outcome. The object of having dogs presented to survey is to ensure the promotion of sound specimens for breeding as an aim to promote soundness of the breed in general. Successfully surveyed dogs are categorised as suitable for breeding that are far above or above average and are classified as GSDCA Breed Surveyed. “Who let the dogs outttttt”📢 We have been enjoying going to this oval and as a bonus it is fenced around. The dogs have been getting a good run around, playing fetch and practicing recalls. We like to stay away from dog parks as they can be unpredictable and cause more harm then good. Most people do not pay attention to what’s happening in the dog park ending in harmful dog fights or feral behaviour. It is important to be in control of your dogs when off lead and being safe then sorry. We bring hotdog treats to reward recalls and check ins. Recalls are a very important foundation of what could be a life or death situation. Always remember to make the experience fun and enjoyable. Remember to not over work your pup and allowing time for rest (30 mins up to 2hrs) before or after feeding to digest and reduce the risk of bloat when exercising. 🐾 #gsd #german #shepherd #puppy #fun #day

German Shepherd Puppies 5.5 weeks old 🐾

The puppies are now 5.5 weeks old. Enjoy the beautiful Gold Coast sun even though the other side has the most shade, they would rather sleep on top of each other there😂 They all have such different personalities and we love watching them learn and grow together. Swimming for German Shepherds is a great form of exercise. Mia really enjoys playing in water whether it is in a dam, beach, pool or sprinklers, it’s all fun to her. But swimming provides a great way to work the muscles, builds strength and confidence and increases mobility. This form of exercise is easy on the joints, ligaments and tendons. Also provides a cardiovascular workout without pain or stiffness. Beware not to leave them unattended around water, accidents can occur and then create a fear of water. Take your time in introducing puppies to water. Make it an enjoyable activity not a long forced swim because you want to. Doggy life-vests are a great way to help get their confidence up. Has anyone of you had a water dog in the past or present? 🐾
