We are a dog loving family who would love to welcome your fur baby into our home to be cared for whilst you are away. We know how important it is that you can feel confident that your pet is cared for as if they were our own. Our family is made of up of my husband and I and our teen daughter. We have had over 12 years of experience caring for and enjoying our lovely Labrador Spinner who was with u

s until early 2023. We aim to provide 5 star service to both your pet and you as their owner - and our great reviews reflect this! Our visitors settle in quickly, enjoying the attention and care they receive from us. With repeat visitors, they have a spring in their step and very waggy tails! 🐾🌪️ Caring for Your Pets During Severe Weather 🌪️🐾

Severe weather events can be stressful for us and our pets; as Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches we thought we would share some tips for keeping our fur-babies safe and calm!! Many pets can sense changes in the atmosphere and may start to tremble and show signs of distress - even before the storm arrives. Here are some essential steps to take to help your pets through this challenging time:

🔍 Identification is Essential
With the high winds and potential flooding, it's vital that your pets are micro-chipped and wearing an ID tag with updated contact information. Ensure your yard is secure to prevent any escape attempts.

🏡 Create a Secure Environment
Pets may feel anxious when left alone, and even more so during storms. Therefore it may be a good idea to try to stay home with them or have a trusted friend watch over them. You could also set up a cozy, den-like area in your home equipped with their favorite toys and treats. Any pets that spend time outdoors should be brought inside to keep them safe from the storm.

😌 Stay Calm and Reassure Them
Your pets will look to you for reassurance. Keeping calm is essential, as they can sense your anxiety. Offer comfort, play soothing music, and use gentle petting to help ease their fears.

🎶 Provide Distractions
Keep windows closed to reduce noise and bright flashes outside. You could also turn on the TV or radio with soft music to help distract them. Try engaging your pets with indoor games or provide treat-filled toys to keep them occupied and distracted from the storm.

🐶 Consult Your Vet
If your pet is exceptionally anxious, don't hesitate to reach out for advice on calming products or medications that might be suitable during this time.
