Well it seems as if the contacts I have can help my neighbour www.japanache.com.au sell his slower moving Japanese antiques. He is also my landlord and it's good to be in favour aye.
This antique cast iron horse weighs 3.7 kgs (computer mouse for sizing) $200, nicely polished and looks like wood - don't stub your toe on it!

I have always mused at how the native Americans became so well accomplished horsemen in so short a time. This discovery makes more sense.

Do you have a Headshaking horse?
Headshaking was first described almost 200 years ago. It is characterised by an uncontrollable, often repetitive vertical and horizontal (head nodding) or rotary movement of the head and neck, often without any obvious external cause or stimuli. Some horses also rub their face and nostrils, often on the front legs or on fences. A number of affected horses might also snort regularly and these horses often have mild nasal discharge.

Some horses exhibit only mild or intermittent symptoms, others develop a frequent, violent headshaking habit with the appearance of distress. They might continually rub the sides of the face, strike out at the face and nose, head press against surfaces and carry their head low or high when ridden. Some show what is termed ‘glass wall syndrome’ when under saddle, where they might refuse to go forward and can even rear if strongly encouraged to continue working. These behaviours can make the horse difficult to handle and dangerous to ride.

The exact incidence is not known, but horses used for dressage, jumping and other equestrian sports can develop the typical symptoms. It is considered to be more common in geldings and the condition is usually first noticed when the horse is an adult. Headshaking is now regarded as a disease, not simply as a neurosis or behavioural vice in the majority of affected horses.

If this behaviour is common to your horse, you can find a handy factsheet written by Dr. John Kohnke about Headshaking here - http://www.kohnkesown.com/C33headshaking.pdf. It contains a review of the literature, including causes, diagnosis, management and treatment options.

💥EDIT: a home has been found.
Cheers.

Free horses to good homes.
The photos were taken yesterday where they are, near Boonah, Queensland.
I have been asked by a good friend Selina to find a home quickly for her mom who has sold her property and has a week left before she has to get off. She had a home for the three horses but just now has been let down! Has created a drama. Selina's mum is also elderley.
Selina: "Here’s some info about the horses. Firstly the two little ones are not exactly classed as Shetlands they are Miniature Horse or something like that. Little horses are Stallions, last worming twelves months ago, farrier came 12 months ago. Both are quiet, although haven’t been handled for a while and they are 10 years old.

The other horse is a ex-race horse retired in 2014 he is 20 or so old. Same as the other two with worming and farrier, he is also quite.

None of the horses have had any vaccinations.

Big horse is Khanperra this was his race name (Khan) for short.

The light colour small horse is Bubbles and darker one Charlie. They don’t need to go together.

Charlie is a little bit cheeky and will chase the other two horses away when they get hay thrown out for them.

But Bubbles and Khan are good mates and would be good together.

I think that’s about it, give me a call if you need anymore info. Thanks again for helping out.

Also mum did say she can pay the transport if needed."

Catchy tune. Ollie hasn’t been tested on cats, but is very good with kids and babies. Can’t trust any dog 100% with babies and kids but he’s very soft with them - just loves kids and ladies but very licky. He's a good dog needing a home and ideally I think that should be one with a big yard and acreage, a few kids and somebody at home most of the day because he needs company.

Ollie crates well, and can be in an office now without wanting to eat everything. He’s happy with the way his redecorating turned out.

“If you want a running companion, I’m your man!” says Ollie, a 1 year old recently homeless dog, who is couch surfing with a veterinarian that is known to be a soft touch. Don’t try this training method at home, kids.

Ollie needs a home. He redecorated my office a few times when I first got him out of the Lismore floods. Now that Ollie is crate trained he doesn’t do that anymore. Happy in his crate is Ollie. Someone give him a home.

13/05/2022

He’s pretty unflappable now.
Ollie needs a home. Ollie managed to survive the Lismore floods so he has dealt with stress, uncertainty, noise, and some massive changes.

He’s still a happy bloke and he wants to please.
Someone give him a home.
