Following on from a great Go Fund Me drive, and an amazing effort from family and friends (and friends of friends of friends!), another amazing group of people have approached Georgia and let her know some wonderful news… The Friday Warriors have reached out and let Georgia know that she has been nominated as the beneficiary for their annual luncheon in August.

Meet Remmi! She's got a bit of an issue with being in the car. As soon as her family hooks a right out of her street she pipes up with the whimpering. So many previous experiences can contribute to this so we are working on creating some calm desirable behaviours and making a plan to use them to get this under control👌

Meet Ollie, he's a border collie x fox terrier! He is full of beans and likes to use his mouth to help his family give him what he wants... So we are working on that, and his focus😎

Meet Pheobe! She's a whippet and she's so extra! I've met some super shy whippets, but Pheobe is far from shy😂 We are working on some calm behaviours and she's picking it up very quick👌

Meet Gollum! She's big, she's got a few black blotches but otherwise totally white and she's as deaf as a post... Well she may be able to hear the slightest bit of a very loud sound (that could actually just be feeling vibration). We have had half a dozen sessions to work on her reactivity and some behavioural traits that do not make her fun to be around if she uses them to 'keep' what she wants. Her mum has done amazing work on communicating some great cues and btheir associated behaviours already, so now we are using them in a way that guides Gollum to choose desirable behaviours that still let her keep the things she wants. Without needing to resort to her self developed toolkit.

Meet Penny! She's had a few puppy training sessions to focus on confidence and independence. As well as behaviours like recall, 'leave it' and sit, she has also practised the desirable behaviours about the home that her family had started to worry she may not be able to sort out. Things like toileting and also things exiting the routine of "needing" to cry at the kids door at specific times in the family's daily routine.

Meet Pickles! This 3yo beagle has a lot of fun meeting and greeting people... Maybe a little bit too much. We are teaching him and his humans to recognise why he finds these interactions a good choice, and at the same time creating some better behaviours that are more conducive to everyone enjoying the interaction.

Meet Molly the St. Bernard. She's 18 months old and 64kg of excited bounce. Great behaviours in some situations, a bit excited to meet people and other dogs. So we are working on her recognition of her owners as being the best thing in her world. She's had two sessions and is picking up the training like a good, big, girl! 😍

Meet Rebel! His mum came to us for some dog reactive issues, he was bailed up and bitten on the face when he was younger. Starting any sort of training to address these kind of issues means we need to recognise his current behavioural toolkit in day to day life - and if they are not ideal then we need to furnish him with a new one. Simple behaviours like sit, stay, come. In doing this we can also introduce concepts like remaining calm.
From there, after there is success built up with from practicing the new toolkit- only then can we get into getting him out and around other dogs🙏

Meet Diesel😊 his mum and dad got him just before covid and the lockdown forced them to halt their puppy socialisation plans. It's actually a very common issue as we move further away from the initial covid days. So apartment life has him reacting to a few routine stimuli. We have had our first session and his parents are VERY excited to see the initial progress and recognise that they have so many opportunities to set him up to succeed in reducing his reactivity to certain things. We are well on the way to giving him a new toolkit to feel safe and comfy while practising things like sits, stays, stationing and not barking😆🙏

Meet Alfie😍 this cute little 17wk old frenchie is pretty adorable! He didn't get to go into puppy school as his family got him a bit later in the socialisation window (8-16 weeks) so we are doing the crash course for puppy life. He has been interacting with the family with his own toolkit of behaviours so we quickly set him up and started on showing him another way to interact with everyone. Looking forward to seeing him again for the next steps😎

Our last post was one of Vegas during his first session.
This one is after his 4th.
Different dog❤️
His training plan has helped his family set him up to feel secure, and they have worked hard to take the training to the next level each week.
We have another 4 weeks to get him even more happy and calm with strangers and feeling safe when they approach him.
Great work Vegas and family!

Meet Vegas! This pocket bully was as chilled out as a dog could be... Until he had an incident and had to go to the vet. Then he needed a follow up the next day.
In those few days, he was way out of his chilled out comfort zone and became sensitised.
Now the poor chap is not tolerant of people approaching him, and gets worked up easily.

We are working on reintroducing the idea that people are good! And that people approaching is ok. He is picking it up quick!

Meet Evie! She's had her first GCDT puppy session where we used her previous puppy school teachings to help structure the successful introduction of distractions into her environment. The goal is to maintain her focus while we gradually increase the difficulty of the situation 😎👌She did really well!

Meet Ajax! He is a big boy, with a naughty habit of mouthing when he thinks his mum is about to leave him. We had our third session today and focused on the value that he has been building on staying calm on his bed. And in recognising he can be successful at getting his mums attention when he is calm and stationed on his bed👍😊

Meet Zoe the Labradoodle Pup, at 12 weeks, she is full of beans and using some typical puppy behaviours to get a lot of the attention she is after. We just had her first session and she is already well on her way to showing more desirable behaviours to get even better attention from her mum☺️👌

Meet Bear, he has just moved from acreage into a unit and he is having a fun time picking his new things to interact with - mainly people walking into the building and up stairs... So we will show him good things to interact with, and what a good reaction looks like, so he can be set up to practise the good stuff and not bark at everything 😅

Meet Willow, she's an 8 week old Kelpie x Border Collie puppy who has just had her first In Home Puppy session😎
As well as the training, we also do a house check for escape areas and other hazards👌
