Feel like Lexie turned a corner today with her loose leash walking. Her owners haven’t had much time to train but they have still been making progress with this exuberant girl. Lexie is only seven months old and she’s got plenty of energy. We just need to harness it 💖🐾💖🐾💖🐾💖🐾

How to teach a dog to stop barking!
UPDATE!!! Owner reports: "I have just put it into practice when hubby came home on the boat and the neighbour went out to see him. Billy was going nuts. I said Billy 'quiet' and he stopped and came to me! Promptly rewarded with chicken."
This is Sir Barksalot, otherwise known as Billy. We are putting his barking on cue so we can teach the alternative behaviour of Quiet 🤫
He aced his training today and is picking it up very quickly but will need plenty of practice to establish the behaviour of keeping his thoughts to himself 😀
Go Team Billy ❣️🐾
Having a bit of fun with my return to heel.
When good dogs turn bad 😂😂😂
Big Bertha trying to commit homicide 😂😂😂
We were working on the return to heel exercise but someone was a little too enthusiastic 🤩
Make sure you watch with sound. ❣️❣️
Big Bertha Obedience Training
The COVID crisis last year was a real motivational killer for me. I pretty much stopped training all together and really lost any enthusiasm I had for it.
Now as we head into the cooler weather of 2021 I seem to have rediscovered my mojo and am keen to get back into training, especially with Big Bertha.
I made this short video so I could see what flaws/errors there are in my training. There is a lot of polishing to do but considering she really hasn't done much for well over 12 months (well over), I'm actually pretty please with how it looks.
I'll be starting puppy classes at Nerang from Saturday, May 1, at 9am - it's a 6 week block for puppies 5 months and under.

Door Desensitisation - what it's all about and why we use it
Online Workshop on Door Desensitisation ... take the first step in training your dog to cope with being home alone.
This 90-minute Online Workshop will be an interactive one, via Zoom, which means you will take part in the exercises with me in real time.
Everyone who joins me can go through the steps of Door Desensitisation as I show them live - and we'll be troubleshooting along the way, especially if you find your dog is struggling.
Date: April 22, 2021
Time: 8am (Queensland, Australia time)
Location: Online, via Zoom
Cost: $45.00
This event will be held via Zoom and you will be able to participate with your dog so we can iron out any issues. You'll need some sort of device (phone, tablet, laptop etc) to join the call and also so I can view your dog while you are doing the exercises.
We'll be discussing:
● Getting started with decoding your dog's separation anxiety
● Finally have a dog who is relaxed and disinterested when you walk towards the door
● Taking the first step in teaching your dog to be okay with being left alone
● Learning what works and what doesn't work and why your dog won't settle when you walk out the door
● …and much, much more.
Reserve your Workshop spot now by hitting the link below.
Hope to see you soon!
Best regards,
Ness Jones
P.S. Can't attend the Workshop? If you book, but can't make it, you'll be sent a Link to view later

What to do when the weather turns bad
No matter where you live in the world there will always be times when the weather turns bad - too hot, too cold - and you can't get your dogs out. Here's a few tips to deal with it
All your separation anxiety questions answered❣️❣️❣️
Wet day but dawgs don’t mind 🐾
An early morning Madness of Malinois ❣️❣️❣️🐾🐾🐾🐕🐕🐕
The myths around separation anxiety and more ....
It’s official. It’s been confirmed by an expert panel of Grammar Nazis & Grammar Queens ... the collective noun for a group of malinois is a. “madness“.
Hence, please enjoy this little video of a madness of malinois on their Sunday morning fun run 🐾
Muta the Magnificent learning to come under low-level distractions. 👀
Next week we will up the ante and increase the distractions .... prams, joggers, dogs 🐕
Muta especially finds cyclists 🚴♀️ and joggers 🏃♂️ of exceptional interest so we will start to work on engagement with his owner around them. But first Muta needs to learn the foundations before we can proceed 💯
For anyone playing along at home, yes I did return his purloined balls 🏀 to him which I accidentally stole last week 💓
This is our neighbour’s dog trying to get the girls to play 🐕
Unfortunately the girls aren’t that keen on him even though he’s so dang cute ❣️
They do enjoy running the fence line with him but I don’t like their attitude so it’s something I actively discourage 👎
Here they are learning to just be when he’s barking his head off at them 👌
I haven’t asked for any obedience (eg sit or drop). They’ve just chosen to do so of their own accord 💕
Could I leave them outside unsupervised in this situation? No not yet as I haven’t put enough training into it. And I don’t want them to rehearse unwanted behaviour. You get nothing if you don’t put the work in 💪
Charli is such a good girl and lurves her hoomans ❤️. We had some fun at the park today working on her recall and engagement ❤️🐾
