Dealing with dermatitis and irritated skin in dogs can be tough, but you're not alone! 🌿
From allergies to parasites, there are various causes for their discomfort.
Hamish is a tenterfield terrier so has a tendency to have sensitive skin (freshly cut grass🌿)

Here are some tips to soothe those itchy woes:

🧼 Moisturise: Just like us, dogs need moisture too! Try a pet safe moisturiser or conditioner to keep their skin hydrated

Mabel is a new member of the family and Winston isn't exactly impressed! 😡 Introducing a new cat to the household needs a little patience and gradual introduction..

✅Prepare a separate space with everything for your new kitten, food, water, litter boz, toys and a cosy bed. This lets the new cat become used to their new environment without feeling overwhelmed.

✅ Start slowly allowing the cats to become acquanted with each others scents with supervised interactions and monitor their body language for signs of stress and aggression.

✅ Reward positive interactions with treats, praise and playtime to create positive associations.

✅ Gradual exposure as the cats become more comfortable for longer sessions together.

✅ Provide safe spaces for each cat if they need a place to be alone and help prevent conflict.

It may take a couple weeks or even months for the cats to fully accept each other. Be patient and allow them to establish their own relationship at their own pace.

Summer is here 😎

And that means Hamish loooooves to be outdoors in the sun chasing birds and balls ⚽

Hamish is a HIGHLY active breed so while he does need at least an hour of exercise per day this has to be planned during the summer months.

THIS MEANS:
✅ Early morning walks
✅ Late afternoon/evening plays
✅ Breaks between plays for a rest and a quick drink
✅ Play in shady areas like this one in the photo
✅ Frozen Kongs and frozen treats for mental stimulation and a cool, yummy meal!

❌ No mid day play
❌ No play if it's too hot and humid
❌ No walks on hot concrete (protect those paws!)
❌ No walks through long grass 🐍🦠
