Maisey visited us with a sore eye and ended up giving Dr Kerry a mini treasure hunt! The culprit? A tiny piece of hay poking out in the corner. After numbing the eye, we gently removed it and started treatment for her ulcer. Heal quickly, sweet girl 💛

When an owner rang to say one of their dachshunds had eaten a used nappy but no one knew which one…both suspects were asked to be brought in for questioning. 👩‍⚕️🐾

Turns out the cheeky blonde on the right was the guilty culprit, looking only slightly sheepish after we retrieved the evidence.

Evidence recovered, culprit identified and everyone is feeling much better! 😆

Nurse Ivy's own dog, Ralph, wouldn’t be here this Christmas if it weren’t for Dr Andres. ❤

While giving her dogs a routine check at home, Ivy felt a small, unusual lump on Ralph. A few days later it seemed slightly bigger, so she took him into the clinic for further investigation. Ralph was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

It was an incredibly scary moment… but there was hope.
Andres performed Ralph’s thyroidectomy and cared for him with the same calm, kind approach he’s known for.

This week, two Currumbin clients also shared with Ivy how much they appreciated Andres’ gentle manner, patience, and the way he instantly eased their stress.

A huge thank you to Dr Andres and all of our amazing vets for everything you do. ❤️
Ralph is smiling again and ready for Christmas. 🎄

🚨 Another heartworm case this month!

We've seen an alarming increase in heartworm positive cases in our clinics this year, and we suspect that skipping or delaying preventatives has contributed.

Heartworm is a serious and potentially fatal disease caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. It’s spread by mosquitoes, so here in QLD, we’re in a hot spot! Treatment requires multiple vet visits and can cost thousands.

💉 The good news: Heartworm is easily preventable. We recommend the annual heatworm injection — a simple, single injection that protects your pet all year round.

❗️If your pet hasn’t been on prevention, or a dose has been missed, they could already be carrying deadly heartworm. Both the annual injection and monthly preventatives only prevent infection, they do not kill existing heartworms.

Before starting prevention (or resuming after a missed dose), it’s important to bring your pet in for a heartworm test. It’s a simple blood test, and we have results in just 10 minutes.

Uh oh, someone has been up to mischief!

Miss Skittles might be a senior, but she’s still as cheeky as ever!

While her family was busy packing up after their house sold, she decided to add her own creative touch… by tipping over a tin of paint, rolling in it, and proudly parading it all through the house (and into dad’s swag)! 😅🎨

But how could anyone stay mad at that face? 🥰
