Vale Chris Kennedy

Yesterday, musuem volunteers attended the funeral of Chris Kennedy. Chris was a top bloke with plenty of character and a great horsemen. The way he educated the schools children was impeccable and he loved doing it. He’ll be missed by all of us at the musuem as well as family and friends. Our deepest sympathies and thoughts go out to Chris’s family and friends.

The 2nd Light Horse Mudgeeraba Troop attended Mudgeeraba Dawn Service, Robina morning march, two private services in Robina and Mudgeeraba and finished off with the Mudgeeraba Sunset Service

Overall a very big day for the troopers and horses

Our troops and volunteers were busy this Remembrance Day, attending services at the Currumbin RSL and our musuem. Well done to Peter Atkinson, Jacob Fellows and the members of the Albert Battery who attended the Currumbin RSL Service and well done to Peter McLaughlin and his horse Locket. Well done to the 12th Newcastle Light Horse Troop who travelled all this way to help us out at the musuem.

24th February marks Purple Poppy Day. The Purple Poppy symbolises all animals who served, continue to serve and who have made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts around the world. Historically the greatest number of animal casualties are horses, ponies and mules.
