🌟 Wishing Dr. Robert a Happy Retirement! 🌟

After many years of dedicated care, Dr. Robert officially retired yesterday from Arundel Vet Surgery. We are so grateful for the love and compassion he has shown to all the pets and families in our community. Thank you, Dr. Robert, for everything you’ve done—we wish you all the best in this next chapter!

The clinic is now in the very capable hands of Dr. Judy and her amazing team, who are excited to continue providing the same exceptional care you’ve come to know and trust.

We’re looking forward to meeting you and your fur babies! 🐾

Our new hours are:
📅 Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm
📅 Saturday: 8am - 12pm (we will however be closed THIS Saturday 25 Jan)

COVID STRIKES !!!!!
We escaped most of covid over the years but, this time it has really hit us, affecting all staff. We are currently closed and unfortunately will not reopen until Monday 9th at 8am. We thank all our clients who have been very patient with us during this time.

TICK PARALYSIS
Its tick season and the heat and rain have brought them out. Make sure your preventatives, such as Bravecto, are up to date!! They are a lot cheaper than treatment!!!

This year July is Dental Month!
Did you know, dental disease is one of the most common diseases seen by Veterinarians? Up to 80% of dogs and 70% of cats over 3 years of age are affected!
Right now we are offering up to $108 off the price of a scale and polish for your cat or dog but, only for the month of July.
Dental month is the busiest month of the year by far and we have already taken bookings so, we recommend you book in asap.

This year we are participating in the RSPCA desexing campaign when you can get an extraordinary 20% of the price of getting your dog or cat desexed but, only for the months of June to August. We suggest you book in early, as last year we were not able to fit people in who left it to the last minute

CAT VACC BACK IN STOCK
There are still severe shortages in cat vaccines but we managed to secure one more tray.
However, seven of those vaccines went pretty quickly so, we just have 18 left as of April 5th. If your cat needs vaccination any time soon, we suggest you book in asap. Our suppliers have none in stock. pH 5529 0700

If your vet says your cat/kitten has a heart murmor this is not always insignificant. Today Dr Robert saw a young cat and diagnosed a ventricular septal defect with ultrasound ( Sometimes refered to as a 'Hole in the heart') THis can be seen as a colourful jet in the video and is the THIRD case he has seen in the past month If your vet tells you they can hear a heart murmour please get it checked out as there can be serious problems

Laser Therapy for Bella

Helen Kaslar Bella had just finished her first round of laser therapy (5 sessions) and we have noticed a huge difference in her mobility and pain levels. She is moving a lot more freely and is able to run around a play more with her fur sister Shadow. I have even been able to cut back on her antiinflammatory medications. To Dr Robert, Dr Jessica and all the wonderful nursing staff a big thank you for introducing this treatment option in your practice!

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Hyperthyroidism is a common problem in older cats that can easily be confirmed with a blood test. However it can lead to a serious heart problem called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy best diagnosed by a heart ultrasound. The attached video shows a rapidly beating heart with thickened wall between the two main heart chambers. This can ultimately become life threatening but, can improve with proper medication to treat the Hyperthyroidism. If your cat has increased appetite and weight loss please get them checked over. it might save their life!!
