Negative Punishment doesn’t mean the dog is negatively being punished. Think of the four quadrants as maths we are just either adding or taking away from a situation to ultimately get the desired behaviour.
How many undesired behaviours do you accidentally reward? I know I can think of many 🤪😅

Resilient Dogs
☝️ They are able to deal with day to day stressors and still able to regulate their nervous system
👉 Quality exercise, healthy exposure and mental stimulation to help build up that resilience. But also exposing them to a healthy amount of inevitable stressors so they build up tolerance to it.

🐾 Kennels
Even you leaving the house for the day or something in their environment changes.
Just the simple act of being able to regulate their nervous system and not flipping the lid is important not only for their mental state, but for their nervous system and physical health too

- Food choice matters 🍗
When picking a food reward for your dog when you start out training, pick something your dog “VALUES”
☝️ Don’t tell me your dog is not food motivated.
They are either
* Too well fed
* Stressed or can’t regulate their nervous system
* haven’t learnt to work for food
* The food isn’t high enough value (the environment is more valuable than the food
Eventually your dog will learn to love working with or without food and you will be able to create an even stronger bond than you already have now! But let’s face it would you work for free, probably not. So remember to pay your dog especially for the amazing effort they put in to make training a more pawsitive and fun experience for both of you

👂 Listening to you while playing 🐶 “Elsie was in her learning phase when I was working on this, so this is a perfect example of follow through”I allow my dogs to play at what ever level they wish to play at, PROVIDINGGGG☝️- They have their listening ears on being aware of me and their surroundings ( just in case I need to break up play for what ever reason )- They can calm down pretty easily during and after play - Listen to the other dog and how they are feeling about the interaction and playing at their level I have a relax noise which is my SHHH noise, and just like a distraction noise this noise only comes on when I want the dogs to chill.
