🦷 DENTAL DISEASE 🦷
You would have heard our vets mention it at least once a year. We promise we're not pestering you unnecessarily... dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions seen by veterinarians, with over 80% of dogs over the age of 3 being affected.
Signs of early dental disease can be very subtle, so owners are often unaware of the condition of their pet's teeth. It is up to us to uncover this hidden and painful condition at the time of their yearly vet visits. The video below is something we encounter regularly. Pets who do not recieve regular dental care throughout their life are at risk of developing severe periodontal disease like this. The extreme build up of tartar and calculus have impacted the gums and supporting bone structures of the pet's mouth, resulting in painful & rotting teeth. The majority of this patient's teeth were extracted as a result.
The standards for pet care have increased significantly in recent generations, and ongoing dental care is something that needs to be considered when purchasing a new pet. The combination of a high quality commercial diet, dental chews, teeth brushing, and yearly scale & polishes give your pet's teeth the best chance of remaining clean and disease free for the span of their life.
We offer FREE dental checks year round. Our vets give your pet's mouth a thorough check, and provide you a quote for any dental care required. If you have an questions feel free to shoot us a DM or comment below!
