DARE We are a volunteer team that rescue abandoned, sick and neglected animals. Specialty: Border collies

A nurse and her team dedicated to rescuing abused, tortured, death row, abandoned and desperate animals. Our goal is to reduce the amount of felines and Canines that end up in pounds by desexing them all before sending them to new homes. We foster our babies with tender loving care to ensure they are the best version of themselves before going to their furrever homes. They all come vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, flead, desexed and loved.

Our Story

DARE INC·MONDAY, 1 JUNE 2020·

Domestic Animal Rescue & Education Inc (D.A.R.E) opened its doors as a registered charity on June 1st, 2020 – dedicated to saving the lives of Border Collies and other Australian domestic animals. We are proud to state that we are one of the very few animal rescue organisations that operate as a 100% no-kill. That means we will never euthanize an animal due to finance, behaviour, age, or medical ailments if a treatment is available.

Domestic Animal Rescue & Education is comprised of a registered nurse and her passionate incredible volunteers, who just like you, wanted to make a difference to the welfare of our furry friends. Here at D.A.R.E, we endeavor to be the pre-eminent animal welfare organisation that has a holistic approach to rescue and rehabilitation of the most vulnerable animals in our community – the abandoned, abused, elderly, sick, misunderstood and orphaned.

Specialising in the beautiful Border Collie breed, we help rehabilitate and place them in new homes specific to the breed idiosyncrasies. We have a multidisciplinary team made up of foster carers, trainers, chiropractors, veterinarians, physiotherapists, volunteers, and photographers who own, understand and all share our passion for the breed, therefore, giving them the best opportunity of a second chance.
