MEET THE TEAM 🌟🌟

Kira, some of you may already know of Kira or have seen her name pop up on your bookings ✨

I have been working in the animal care industry for 11 years, (17 years if you count youth volunteering at Taronga Zoo!) I have a strong background in working for animal shelters and rescue organisations.

Have a bachelor degree in Animal Science and Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services (canine training and behaviour).

Outside of work, I love to ride horses when I get the chance, and have a 10 year old female rescue Greyhound named Tahly, who loves to go camping with us.

Christmas 🎄 and new years ✨🌟

Christmas period is coming in HOT 🥵

We have a limited amount of space available for this period, however there are THREE of us this year so have a bit of extra capacity up until Christmas Eve and from the 27th of December onwards.
We are still doing minimal bookings for Christmas Day itself to give myself my first Christmas Day off in over 5 years 🤪 but will still have Kira around to help Morning and Evening.

✨✨🌟🌟A few things regarding our procedures over this period ✨✨🌟🌟

🎄We do NOT offer overnight care for the month of December due to limited availability but can offer multiple visits throughout the day and late night visits if requested.

🎄As usual we do not offer walks on public holidays unless specifically requested, however walks will not be accepted on Christmas Day.

🎄If we visit and walk your animals regularly and you don’t require these to continue during the holiday period please let me know ASAP, we will continue to do our regular visits and walks all the way through ( other than public holidays ) unless told otherwise. I will however send out individual messages to confirm this, to allow our day to day run as smooth as possible. Of course plans do change but we do ask for as much notice as possible, if we do show up to a booking and are not needed the entire cost will still be charged.

🎄Please remember it will be summer time, so we may suggest alternate options for your pets and additional visits if we are concerned about their welfare.

Side note- I have been asked in the past to visit dogs every other day, this is not an option and visits to most animals is a minimum of once a day.
If animals are crated or living outside and we have extreme temperatures we will not accept the booking if it is not agreed upon for us to do as many visits that we deem necessary. This is to make sure that everyone is safe 🤞🏽 while in our care.

Do you really know your sitter ? And how much experience have they actually got ??? ⚡️⚡️

I will FOREVER talk about how important it is to get a pet carer who is experienced, and doesn’t just do the work for some extra money during school holiday or because they just love animals and want something to do.

It is not often that I have had an emergency with any of my animals that I care for BUT myself and the girls I employ are all experienced and knowledgeable in the case of an emergency arising.

In the past we have had a dog bitten by a snake between visits while their owners were away, if it wasn’t for Nicole noticing some very slight but concerning symptoms I dare say that dog would not be here with us right now, but she stepped in to action and called me and we went through what was going on and we made the decision to get her to the vet confirming a snake bite and treating her.
We have had a dog with a uncontrollable ear bleed, if you know much about dogs ears, they bleed ALOT and then they will shake their heads continuously from the discomfort making it very hard for that bleeding to stop, we got him to the vet glued him up sent him home with a cone.
Many years ago I was caring for two very aged horses prone to laminitis and colic , one of them started to present with very minimal signs of colic, getting the vet out ASAP to try and treat it but his health declined dramatically and he unfortunately was unable to be saved but was kept comfortable during that time of treatment if those first signs were not picked up this would have been a horrific way for him to pass on his own.

Unfortunately we did very recently loose a sweet boy unexpectedly while his humans were away, the first visit to him he was great and bubbly, eating, greeted me as I came in, the second visit he didn’t come and greet me that was the first red flag, then he went and had a massive drink which I called him back from so he wouldn’t make himself sick - second red flag he did throw that water up - third red flag then didn’t eat and was noticeably uncomfortable when trying to sit or lay down
With this there was trembling and excessive panting. A lot of people would have put that down to him being sad his humans were away, a upset tummy and would have let him rest it off, or might not have taken the time to notice at all - quickly stepping into action we got him up to the vets to rule out a snake bite, or some sort of blockage.
He had a mass on his spleen which ruptured. He went into emergency surgery and later passed away
IF there was a school child or someone without knowledge or experience caring for him he could have very well suffered and passed away in that yard on his own.

Sometimes I’ll be asked about my prices and why they are higher than the neighbours daughter or the aunty’s cousin. That’s because I am insured and I know what I’m doing, and I don’t make mistakes or miss things with people’s pets and give them the best care possible.

I have made the mistake myself choosing the wrong pet carer for my animals, she had all the qualifications under the sun, but I didn’t get the feeling I was being heard at the meet and greet so wrote down in detail what to do and there was still a massive mistake that could have cost my dogs their life.

Their life isn’t worth the risk of getting someone cheaper or for free.

🌟Currently, all spots for walks are FULL
🌟However there are spots for daily visits
We have got a new face joining our team in the coming weeks
🌟 Becca is still with us and helping out on uni breaks - so will be showing her face for a short period in November and then back in December
🌟Nicole, is living her best life in Canberra so unfortunately her face will no longer be seen - but she will always have our 🫶🏽

🌟Christmas is just around the corner, so if you are planning to get away please book in with us ASAP, Christmas will be ran differently this year after 5 long years of operating all the way through including Christmas Day (more to come on that)
🎄 we have had quite a number of bookings start coming in, with spots already taken and booked LAST YEAR 😮

Please note, we do not do walks or regular visits on public holidays unless specifically asked, this does however have a holiday fee added onto our usual rate 🫶🏽

We look forwforward to continue to grow and care for your little and big friends over the coming months after a heap of new fury faces this past year !!

Can’t find a pet sitter you can trust ?? Someone that understands dogs with reactivity, food aggression with other house hold dogs and sibling dogs that if triggered can and will fight 🤞🏽😴

Having someone come and care for your animals is great, and yes it can be a fantastic job.
But do they really know what they are doing ? And understand how important it is to listen to what you are asking and your dogs needs particularly if they have triggers and tendencies to “act out “.

I myself have three dogs all with different needs, different temperaments and their own special issues 😅 going away even for a night can be quite stressful to find someone I trust to essentially not mess up, with something as simple as not making sure a dog bone isn’t left between two dogs that are known to fight over it, which unfortunately happened while we were away and it is so very lucky that I have put the work into my dogs to be OKAY around food but it’s not always a sure thing. And we could have very well walked into a tragedy.

Our expectations for when we go away are the same as our clients and we ensure to keep to that high standard, to keep you at ease while away trying to relax !
- Proper and detailed updates, particularly first time clients who do not know us.
- Reiterating that we understand everything that has been said and your animals needs and possible tendencies, properly reading all instructions left and asking questions for confirmation
- Having set times spent, not “ about this long “
- Visiting at appropriate times that aline with your pets. Ie. if they are locked inside or crated for the night, ensuring they aren’t going to be in there for over 12 hours.

Additionally, keeping check in your house keeping it as tidy as your animals will possibly let us 😅
Bringing mail in, putting bins in and out and watering plants for those longer holidays

Use a sitter with experience and that you can trust while still being affordable 🤞🏽

Has been living her absolute best life with 3 one hourly walks a week 🫶🏽

We are just about full for the WHOLE ENTIRE month of August between regular bookings and holiday care bookings 🥳

Fireworks 🎆 this weekend !!

If you have fur children and plan on being out during these fireworks PLEASE have them secured
It is always the night of / following day after fireworks that posts are being made for lost dogs.

Fireworks are terrifying for animals and they WILL try and get away from the noise of them.
If you are home, have them in with you. If you aren’t home, have something in place to make sure they will be safe.

Had a fun evening playing ball and getting ready to head to bed for the night, returning the following morning to let them out for the day.
Keeping them safe, warm and secure inside while their humans were away.

We need someone to assist with regular pet care and holiday care for the week of the 29th of April through until the 5th of May

The right candidate will then have the opportunity to continue to work with us ongoing

Must haves ⭐️
- A drivers license above L plates and your own mode of transport
- The ability to take instruction and work on your own
- Reliable - people are in trusting that we will be there to care for their pets while they are away or at work, so once a booking is agreed upon is MUST be done
- Experience with animals, in particular dogs

(Last week, no excuse other than completely forgetting !) 👁️👄👁️
✨Cobber the Bull Arab x ✨
I visited him and his sibling once a day while his humans were away, giving him all the pats while the girls ran around having a play together !

AND this weeks

✨Naya the little Cavoodle ✨
We often do long pet sit with Naya, she has some separation anxiety and does NOT get left alone. Ever.
This can sometimes prove difficult but her humans make it work and do what they need to, to make sure she is okay and happy.
These sits can be an hour or sometimes 6+ hours
Filled with lots of playing, dinner, some sneaky treats, and of course all the cuddles until her pawrents get home 🫶🏽

Running into the weekend like Bruce, Ernest & Frankie 😅🫶🏽 Nicole is having sleep over duties tonight so I can plan our week ahead and get ready for another busy weekend to finish off the school holiday bookings ! 🌝🌝Overnight care is greatly suited for pups that are fine to be left to their own devices throughout the day but require someone to be with them for the night to avoid accidents inside or simply because they have never had a night alone and aren’t comfortable with being left alone for long periods A common service added to overnight care is a midday check ins, ensuring everyone is still happy, exercised and safe until we return later in the evening 🌝🌝

Could watch these little guys all day ! How dang cute are they 😆 We have been super busy this last week with all of our holiday care bookings for these school holidays, this would be our first time caring for these two and their other little friend along with their chicken siblings. On our visit ensuring they have plenty of fresh water, enough food and of course their fresh veg ! Keep tabs for some other new faces to come from this week 🐑🐖🐈🐓

Finished up our visits for Griff (in video)and Puddy Was a absolute pleasure sitting and taking in all their snuggles 🥰 Ensuring their litter was clean and topped up, plenty of food and their water fountain was topped up and clean. Banjo being the goodest doggo at our two visits yesterday. Normally while his parents are away we are only needed to visit him once a day, but he was last minute put on eye ointment twice daily for the next week We were more then happy to assist with this and added a second visit to ensure he had his much needed cream! Getting heaps of pats and treats after Don’t let your pets daily medication whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, bird or chicken on oral, topical, eye creams or your horse needing a table, cream or injection stop you from going on your planned holidays when we are 100 percent happy to keep these up!!

Last official visit with these guys without even realising, can’t believe how fast the past month has gone ! I got all the love and cuddles as a goodbye from this little gal but will have to go pop in tomorrow to give the others a proper “ see ya later “ 🥰 • We are just about booked out for the beginning of January, we do however have a few spots left for Christmas Eve - Boxing day. 🎄🎄
