With the onset of warmer weather protection against ticks and fleas becomes vitally important for our fur family. Protection against heartworm is also important in this warmer weather as mosquitoes spread heartworm and there are definitely more mosquitoes around. The easiest way to protect you dog against heartworm is to get a yearly Proheart injection- call us if you have any questions or would like further information.

We want to help you keep your fur family members happy and healthy. It is time to ensure all fur family members are UP TO DATE with flea and tick prevention, TICKS are about.

There are a number, of different products available to use - if you are unsure about what to use and how often please talk to us. You may think that flea and tick prevention is expensive, but it is not nearly as expensive as treatment for tick paralysis.

I would be beyond happy, if I did not have to treat another case of tick paralysis for the remainder of the year and into the new year (we have had one case so far), due to everyone being up to date with their prevention. Fingers crossed.

It is the start of a new season and a great time to undertake intestinal worming with your dog. In adult dogs intestinal worming should be undertaken every three months and you can remember this by undertaking it at the start of each new season.

If you are finding it hard to remember everything you have to do for your dog i.e. heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention and intestinal worming the easiest way to care for your adult dog is to give him/her:
1. A yearly Proheart injection (protecting them against heartworm for 12 months),
2. The new yearly Bravecto Quantum injection which protects you dog from fleas and ticks for 12 months and
3. Then all you need to do is undertake intestinal worming at the start of each season; spring, summer, autumn and winter (every three months).

If you follow our page we previously helped her mum Willow with a slightly larger litter last year. Hoping these Blue Velvet Love Nuggets find wonderful homes.
