✨ IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL CLIENTS ✨

2025 is in full swing. We have finally got through January (why did that feel like an entire year?!) and it's time to start thinking about this year's bookings.

Appointments are going fast, with the organized among you choosing to secure your spots for the whole year so you don't miss out. If you are an existing client, and you would like to hop on that hot trend, please send me a message.

My books are still closed to new clients, but I appreciate every message I get. Groomers love to share the love, and I've enjoyed helping people find a safe and wonderful groomer with availability. My books will remain closed for the foreseeable future, so I can make sure that existing clients have appointments available.

Price increases. Gross. It's something I've been avoiding since last year. I did let some of you know to look out for the increase in December, but I chose to delay the increase as long as possible. Unfortunately, the rising costs of products and services that keep us moving forward are starting to hit me a bit hard, and I can't delay the increase any longer. I refuse to cut corners on things like shampoos & conditioners, keeping my tools safe, continuing education, and those finishing touches that set Dramatic Paws apart from the rest. You guys deserve the best, and I will always make sure to offer that. I have made sure that my prices are still competitive, and I will still offer discounts to my 4 week or less clients. Most of you will see an increase of $10 per groom. If you're unsure about your new pricing, or if the increase will affect you, please send a message and we can have a chat.

From fluffy to fresh!
Tilly came in for her first ever haircut today, and left looking ready for the runway!

Today marks 6 months since I opened the big garage door, and welcomed Griffin's fuzzy friends into my tiny home salon!

In that very short time, almost 50 of our community's dogs have visited for a pamper session, with most being return clients on regular schedules. Every time you rebook, you give me the opportunity to keep building a positive relationship with your dogs, which is the foundation that Dramatic Paws is built on - a safe, kind, and supportive environment where dogs are respected and encouraged to be themselves!

As well as helping build a successful business, Dramatic Paws clients have also helped donate almost $500 in pet supplies and free grooms to people doing it tough. Every time you say "keep the change", it goes towards a special little fund that I draw on to help pet parents in need.

Thank you all so much for your support. I promise I see every tag, every review, and every photo. I can't wait to see where the next 6 months takes us 🥰

The stunning miss Molly came in for her first visit, and was a perfect angel, despite being a bit scared. She was as still as a statue, and gave the best post-groom cuddles.

Arlo had his first big boy haircut this week, and was so super brave.

Sometimes, puppies can be scared of all the new noises, feelings, smells and touches that come along with being groomed. It's important that they be given the opportunity to navigate these situations with a safe and gentle groomer, but also with a degree of autonomy.

Last visit, Arlo said HECC NO to the blowdrier. I get it - it's noisy and weird. We went suuuuper slow, and eased him into it. As a result, this week he was a champion for it! He knew that if it got to be too much, I would give him a break. The trust we built on his first appointment meant he trusted me enough on the second visit.

Let's hype up Arlo! 💙

FLEAS!

As the weather starts to warm up, we start to see an increase in the number of dogs who have fleas. These little parasites are easy to pick up, even if your dog doesn't hang out with other animals. The only reliable way to make sure that you don't end up with a flea issue, is to make sure that your pups are treated all year with a quality topical or ingestible flea product.

What happens if your flea product fails, and I find living fleas on your dog during a groom? This is a really good question!

The first thing I do, is let you know! Different families have different approaches to how they deal with external parasites, and I believe it should be your choice.

I will offer a flea wash for an additional fee. This will usually kill most of the fleas on the dog. If the dog has a lot of fleas, I will stop the service after the bath, and I will usually ask for the dog to be collected right away.

Why am I so strict?! My salon is a part of my home, and is a space shared with the resident Labradork, as well as Frank the cat. I also have clients with aging dogs, or dogs who can't be given flea medications. For these reasons, it is super important that the salon is flea-free.

"Why is that dog wearing a hat?!"

Sometimes, even with the kindest and most gentle groomers, dogs can still get a bit scared. There's a lot of loud, weird noises from the dryer, the clippers, the nail grinder and....sometimes just from my bad jokes.

Happy Hoodies help quiet some of that noise. We gently fold the ears so the ear canal is closed, and slip the soft, elastic hoodie over the dog's head. The thick material, combined with the light compression, helps them feel safe.

They are one of the many tools Dramatic Paws uses to make sure your pups have the best chance at a stress-free grooming experience.

Shout out to Bruce for being such a sweet model 🥰

This is Muffin.

Yes, Muffin is just as wild and wonderful as her Bluey namesake. She's also one of the most stunning and interesting dogs I have ever worked with.

Fun fact - before Dramatic Paws, I was a certified Dog Trainer! Muffin was in all of my classes, including my Puppy Class when she was a tiny little menace. When I swapped over to grooming, Muffin came along for the ride.

I am so fortunate to have clients like Muffin, whose Mum and Dad have given me their unwavering support.
