So, we’ve learnt how to read the sugar and starch levels in our hay - but what if I told you low sugar hay can still have high calories and protein? Yep, you heard right - sugars aren’t the only thing we look for in a feed test!

If you have a horse that is struggling with their weight, perhaps they have EMS or a similar diagnosis - you need low calories too!

Have you ever looked at a feed test and thought "what on earth am I supposed to be looking at here?" - so many numbers, acronyms, percentages...

But you have a laminitic prone horse and you've been told you need to feed "low sugar hay" - but what does that even mean? How do you know the "tested" hay that you've bought is indeed low sugar? 🤯

We've decided to make a series of short videos to help you read these feed tests, so you can be equipped with knowledge when purchasing hay for your beloved equine friend.

In this first video we talk about sugars and starch - what numbers you need to pay attention to, what thresholds those numbers should be under and the reasoning behind it!

So if you can spare 4 minutes of your Saturday morning, we highly recommend that you sit down with your coffee and give this video a listen ☕

Well, if BOM is right we have a soggy weekend ahead! This means rather than turning some quality hay into garden mulch, we're going to postpone the hay truck to Sunday 24th November.

Yep, you read right! We're venturing to the South! Do you agist at CEC and would you love a delivery this Wednesday? Give us a call.

We've had a lot of enquiries south side, so we'll be delivering every second Wednesday!
