This event is being hosted by Gunnible Landcare Inc & Gunnedah Urban Landcare Group, with support from Tamworth Regional Landcare staff.

JOEL WILLIAMS - Joel is an independent international Soil Health Educator, advocating rethinking soils through the lens of biology. Information will be provided on soil management, plant nutrition and integrated approaches of sustainable food production.

CAMERON LECKIE: is the Regional Soil Coordinator, SQNNSW, Cameron will speak to the National Soil Strategy which was released in May 2021 with the aim of improving our understanding of Australia’s soil and how to manage it better.

DR ROB BANKS: Rob is a local Certified Practicing Soil Scientist, Principal of SoilFutures Consulting. Robert has over 30 years of practical and academic experience in soil science, geomorphology, research and trouble-shooting . His topic is “Rapid soil development in response to land use change”.

SCOTT MCCALMAN & AMY PERFREMENT: Local farmers Scott and Amy will present “Local cropping strategies - production & PROFIT”. Scott has a mixed cropping enterprise and is focussed on ongoing soil health improvements and producing profitable cotton. Amy, a 7th generation farmer from Piallaway, was mentored by Scott over 3 years in her cropping program. Amy will present on the results of this program. She is committed to improving soil health by making small changes to reduce the use of synthetic inputs. She is growing a variety of cash crops and maintains a strong focus on continually learning by trying new things that will improve soil health and production.

WAYNE CHAFFEY: Chair of Tamworth Regional Landcare and a Board Member of Landcare NSW is your MC and Facilitator for the day. Wayne is a 5th generation farmer from Somerton, NSW

This event is fully catered, and relevant exhibitors will be on hand with product/service opportunities.

After 35 years of publishing Australasian Poultry magazine we have decided it's time to call it a day. Vol 35 No 6 Feb/Mar 2025 is our final issue.
The current economic situation along with less interest in magazine reading and fewer newsagents selling the magazine have all contributed to this difficult situation.
