Tango (Hesitate) was impressive in his first NSW trial this morning. It was his first look at the Menangle track and true to form, he showed us yet again that nothing seems to faze him👌
Check out the last 50 metres of his trial below⬇️:
(Unfortunately a technical glitch meant the full trial is unavailable)
Merry Christmas from Burns Racing Stables🎅🎄.
We hope everyone has had a wonderful day, stay safe!
***HAPPY RETIREMENT KENNY***
After a couple of recurring niggles we have made the decision to retire Kenny (Everybodyluvskenny).
We feel this is the best decision for Kenny and it will ensure he has a long, happy and healthy life in retirement😊.
Kenny came to us as a yearling and has been a super little horse, very rarely out of the placings and making multiple Group 1 races.
He is a bit of a strange horse but he was super easy to have around. He was our go to for someone's first drive, he was our resident masseuse and rug wrecker, he didn't require alot of attention and didn't like many people🤣 but he did find love with Hayley Burns and she loved him!
Kenny has been retired to a wonderful loving home where he will have some time to recover and adjust before starting his new life as a trail riding horse and best friend.
Happy trails Kenny, we'll miss you!
A massive thank you to everyone that has been involved in Kennys racing journey over the years, it's been a blast and we look forward to having some more good times as most of you have jumped on board with our new 2yo trotter Elli😊
Today we said a heartbreaking farewell to our beautiful Royal Equity, just a couple of days short of her 25th birthday.
This was an extremely hard decision but we feel it was the right one.
Royal Equity has always been the Queen amongst the mares but she has been struggling to maintain her weight for some time now due to her teeth, despite multiple feeds a day. Although she was quite happy she was beginning to struggle keeping up with the other mares. We wanted our girl to leave this world while she was still happy and still the Queen that she has always been.
Royal Equity was the one that brought us back to harness racing and got us to where we are today.
She gave us some of the best times we've ever had, taking us to the Ladyship Mile in Sydney (what a trip that was!) running 4th in the Ballarat Cup behind Flashing Red and ahead of the great Sokyola, winning for us the night Hayley and I got engaged at Moonee Valley and winning a Victoria Cup consolation just to name a few, she had a cult like following in her day and we will be forever grateful for all the wonderful memories she gave us.
We are going to miss your beautiful face greeting us at the gate every day and your best pal Mornings will be lost without you but we know you are running free up there with your mum, Royal Ann🥺
Thanks for the memories,
Rest easy "old girl" x💔🌈
Tango (Hesitate) enjoying some naked time!😜
Maxi the Machine💪.
He's the only yearling we've got but I think he's the only one we'll need!
Stormy loving life today 👍
Bit of a delay with this post thanks to not having any reliable internet🤦♀️
Was great to see our 2yo Colt Stormy Woods run second in the first 2yo race of the year last week. Narrowly beaten after being pushed up the track and locking wheels, unfortunately the protest didn't go our way but we're still super proud of his efforts.
I'm sure he will do his owner, Phil Wood proud this season.
