Such a wonderful group of young kids and there k9 companions showing off there skills they learned in our 3 day intensive program π₯°
We find our biggest challenge for clients in dog training to be Starting out.. it can be scary! Most of us start out feeling shy, unsure and sometimes at a loss because some of ours pups are challenging.
But these are not reasons to avoid coming along.. they are in fact fantastic reasons to join in! below you can see a little clip of some easy and not so easy pups and owners making progress after only a few short weeks of training.
Whether it be a disability, anxiety, an unruly pup, your age or you just don't want to make a fool of yourself, please don't feel unwelcome!
Myself and molly work with a lot of dogs and owners that have had a challenging time for one or more of the reasons above, but, we pride ourselves on being able to get the same outcome for all of our clients through changing techniques, changing reinforcers, working on moter skills and at points we have had clients swapping dogs over with someone else so that you may learn the skills with a willing dog before attempting again with a more challenging dog.
We are trained to handle the crazy's and know how to have some fun while doing so, please! don't hesitate to come down and meet us during obedience hours just to get a feel. you'll see fairly quickly how much fun our clients have whether there dogs are behaving or not.
Watch our level 3 class working under High distraction! some of our newer graduates are defiantly being put to the test in this video and others are having a blast because they have been through this and many other training drill before.
Its so important that you continue to train your dogs in many different situations, with different distractions and different reinforcers to get the best results. these owners have spent a lot of time on there dogs at home, in public spaces and in smaller groups of dogs all working on engagement, reinforcement, thresholds and fun all to lead to a moment in time where they start to see it all start come together!
don't be fooled by the videos you see on social media! all dogs and owners have there days, not all dogs like dogs and not all people like people.. Dog training can be MESSY!!
Keep an eye out for future videos of this group as we all start to produce the outcome our clients desire.
Our level 3 students had a good giggle as we attempted a new game!
