Introducing the gorgeous Jerry (in the black) and George (in the grey), two very lucky little boys.

They were born to a stray mum under someone’s front porch, but sadly 3 weeks in she just stopped coming back to care for them. The home owner scooped them up once they became aware of them and they arrived here at the Good Place shortly after.

With their eyes just open and still not strong enough to walk, they would surely have perished if no one cared enough to step in.

They are healthy and strong, so it is very doubtful that mum abandoned them. Much more likely something bad happened to her to prevent her return.

But these boys are absolutely gorgeous and will make wonderful companions for their new families in a few weeks time.

It’s definitely baby bird season 🙂

Having released 5 little black birds last week, who were fully grown and ready to fend for themselves, another little soul arrived that same day, a little nestling starling. He was quickly followed the next day by another of his kind. Sadly, a couple of days later we lost the second one as a result of an infection, leaving the first one alone again.

Not for long though, as two days later a little Muscovy duckling arrived. These two have nothing in common but she needed warming up so I put her in the other end of the brooder under the heat lamp. Not one to spend time alone she quickly relocated to be next to a friend. They are now quite happily snuggling up whenever one gets chilly or lonely 💕💕

Only 6 days to go till our first ever market stall at Off the Rails Dunkeld next Sunday - very exciting !!

Please drop by and support our hay drive for the year - it costs a lot to keep everyone who comes through here fed and in warm beds and the more we can raise towards the hay bill, the more we have available for vet bills and other necessities

It’s all a juggle 🤹‍♂️

Our signs are ready, we will be the one with a purple marquee - hopefully we’ll be hard to miss 😊

We’re super excited and very busy making enough products for the day.

Everyone - meet the gorgeous Clarrie. Clarrie has been doing hard time at the pound for the last month or so- well not so hard really, he was cruising round keeping their grass short and making friends with the rangers. But even so, it’s a lonely life being an only sheep, with no one like you to keep you company.

So Clarrie has landed here at the Good Place. He is very sweet. I reckon he has at least two years wool on him so getting the shearer to him is a priority, and I’m a little concerned about a growth on one eye, so a visit from the vet will be arranged in the very near future too. But other than that he’s in great shape and is thoroughly enjoying making friends through the fences with others who speak sheep.

Hey everyone
This is Rubie. Rubie is an 18 month old chocolate lab. She is desexed, happy, healthy and loves people. Unfortunately she also loves chickens - too much 😞
So Rubie is in need of a new loving forever family. She currently lives out of town but is probably best suited to an active family or single person in town who wants some super loving company.
Rubie is also a jumper, so good fences are a must. She currently lives with small dogs and a couple of cats, and they all get along fine. But no birds or small pets such as rabbits or Guinea pigs.
If you think Rubie might be the perfect match for your family and would like to meet her, please get in touch. She’s not here at the sanctuary but I can answer questions and put you in touch with her owner.

Once again a massive thank you to ARC and their supporters. Without these guys, keeping a self-funded sanctuary like the Good Place ticking over, would be much harder.

This weekend we received a huge donation with a wide variety of dog and cat food and treats - and even a bale of h**p hay for our resident guinea pigs 🙂

In addition to keeping all the cats and dogs here well fed in the coming weeks, donations like these mean that money saved can go towards essential supplys for others residing here at the sanctuary - like the new delivery of hay coming tomorrow for all the wonderful wooly ones here at the Good Place

29 little lambs arrived here this year in need of care, a few didn’t make it sadly, but most found wonderful forever homes, with the last of them heading off to their forever home today.

Thank you to everyone who adopted lambs, made donations (both once off or regular) bought gifts from our on line shop, or even shared posts. It is only with your help that we can do what we do 😊

While it seems very quiet tonight - Evie is most definitely enjoying not having to share the fire.

Some of our little bitty lambs are just about to head off into the world to their very own homes and some beds are being vacated - but not for long, before some new little ones drop in: sweet little Georgia at only 2 days old is already much bigger than twins Gina and Riley who are going on for two weeks old now, while little Casper, also only 2 days old, definitely has some catching up to do 💕💕

We have had an amazing response to our post yesterday. A huge thank you to everyone who shared the post and got in touch. Not only have we got homes lined up for the six that had already stolen someone’s heart, but I’m pretty sure all eight in the post yesterday also have wonderful new homes waiting for them!

Even so, with this cold weather continuing I have no doubt more will come in, and I know some other rescues are also desperately seeking homes for their lambs too.

So if you’re interested in maybe adopting a couple later on, or would like to connect with other rescues please let me know.

It’s only with people like you guys who share our posts and offer forever homes to some of these babies that we can keep taking in more of the many that are found alone 💕
