We’ll be honest — we’ve hesitated to advertise Lewd Bandit. He’s just that special. With his cruisey temperament, gentle spirit, and absolute cuteness overload, there’s been more than one moment where we’ve thought about keeping him forever. But now, we’re ready to admit: it’s time for this lovely boy to find his own family.

Lewd Bandit was born on 20 June 2025, his birth was witnessed by his hobby-farmer family. However, from the very first moment, his mother chose his twin — and not him. Despite the family’s efforts to encourage bonding, Lewd Bandit’s mother became increasingly aggressive toward him. After 24 hours, the family made the kindest choice they could: they surrendered him to Leema Rescue, where he’s been loved, bottle-fed, and nurtured ever since.

Lewd Bandit has a naturally easygoing nature. He tries his best to keep up with the big lamb kids in games and zoomies, but he’s usually found curled up beside his best mate Birch for a nap after the excitement wears off. He’s sociable, gentle, and carries himself with a quiet confidence that makes everyone around him smile.

Lewd Bandit is a Dorper, a breed that naturally sheds its coat, which means he won’t need shearing. He’ll still require regular sheep care — drenching, feed, hoof checks, and access to a knowledgeable vet. His beautiful brown spots are striking now but may fade as he matures, though we suspect he’ll always keep that spark of personality.

Lewd Bandit is still on bottles and will go to his new home with Wombaroo formula and a bottle to help him transition. He is available to a loving, pet-only home (no breeding, no meat) where his calm nature, sweet companionship, and irresistible charm will be appreciated every single day.

If you're lucky enough to adopt Lewd Bandit, you’re getting one of the best little lambs we've ever had the joy to raise.

Many thanks to Rebecca Lynne Creative for Bandit's adoption photos.

Birch is a tender-hearted little lamb who’s already come through so much in his short life. Found in tragic circumstances in June, newborn Birch was discovered distressed in a paddock surrounded by deceased lambs, a ewe who had passed away, and another severely ill, emaciated ewe unable to stand. A kind-hearted Samaritan rescued both Birch and the unwell ewe, giving them a chance at survival. Birch was kept warm, fed, and loved — and slowly, he began to recover.

Once stable and thriving, Birch was transferred into the care of Leema Rescue, where he’s continued to flourish. Though still very young, Birch has a soft and peaceful presence that draws people in. He quickly formed a bond with his similar-aged friend, Lewd Bandit, but being a bit of a daydreamer, Birch often trails behind in all the fun. He’s a gentle soul, just taking things at his own pace.

Birch has a few favourite things: he loves having his face washed after a bottle (a little spa moment he leans into with complete trust), and he absolutely adores his creature comforts. If you’re looking for him, check the softest, warmest spot in the shelter — that’s where Birch will be, having carefully made his bed.

Birch is a wool breed and will grow a long, beautiful fleece. He may be a perfect match for a hobby spinner or fibre enthusiast looking for a companion animal with wool you can work with. He’ll absolutely require regular care — annual shearing and crutching at the six-month mark — to keep him healthy and comfortable.

Birch is bottle-fed and will go to his new home with Wombaroo formula and a bottle. He’s available to a loving, pet-only home (no breeding, no meat) where his gentle nature and unique wooly potential will be treasured. Whether you’re a spinner, a softie, or someone looking to share your heart with a lamb who truly deserves comfort and safety — Birch will be your boy.

Many thanks to Rebecca Lynne Creative for Birch's adoption photos.

Don’t be fooled by the mighty name — Nurgle is one of the gentlest, most endearing little lambs you’ll ever meet. Named after the Warhammer Chaos God of decay and rebirth (because sometimes rescue work feels a bit like that), our Nurgle has proven that even the smallest lamb can embody resilience, renewal, and pure joy.

Nurgle was found all alone in a paddock on 13 June 2025 — believed to have been born that very day and sadly rejected or forgotten by his mother. An attentive farmer noticed him and brought him into care, where he was given warmth, food, and safety.

Despite his rocky start, Nurgle soon began making quiet but meaningful connections. He provided companionship to a sweet lamb named Scrunky, who was with another rescuer briefly before passing due to severe facial deformities. That week with Scrunky showed how empathetic and companionable little Nurgle could be.

It took Nurgle a little while to warm up after his move to Leema Rescue, but with time, he’s growing more confident every day. He’s now playful, social, and starting to enjoy attention — especially when his big lamb friend Gemsam is nearby. The two share a lovely bond, and Nurgle adores him completely, following him around and finding comfort in his calm, settled presence.

Nurgle also does the best lamby frolics — full of springy leaps, happy kicks, and wiggly enthusiasm. He’s still bottle-fed and will go to his new home with Wombaroo formula and a bottle to help him adjust.

Nurgle has recovered well from a case of joint ill while in care and is now thriving. Like all wool-breed lambs, he’ll need annual shearing and crutching halfway through the year to stay clean and comfortable.

Nurgle is available to a loving, pet-only home (no breeding, no meat) where his quiet resilience and joyful spirit will be cherished. Whether you’re a Warhammer fan or just someone with room in your heart for a funny little lamb, Nurgle will reward you with loyalty, frolics, and a surprising amount of personality.

Many thanks to Rebecca Lynne Creative for many of Nurgle's adoption photos.

Also known around the paddock as 'Sam the Lamb' and 'Big Lamb', Gemsam is a wise, settled soul who brings a calm presence to the lamb crew. He’s a little older than most of his foster friends and already showing signs of readiness for weaning — happily munching away on lucerne hay like a pro. If you’ve already got a slightly older lamb or are looking for one who’s a little more independent, Gemsam might just be your perfect match.

Gemsam was found with no mum in sight on 9 June 2025, seeming to be just a few days old. When Gemsam was rescued, he was already sporting ear hematomas — a strange and unusual condition for such a young lamb. These were treated and drained by a vet, and while his ears now sit a little differently, it’s all part of his charm. Potential adopters should know the hematomas may return in the future and be prepared to manage this with vet care if needed.

Gemsam had a bit of an attitude early on — he was quite particular about when and where he’d accept a bottle. But with patience and care, he soon found his rhythm and has been growing stronger and more confident every day. Since he has entered Leema Rescue's care, he has been settled and confident.

He’s currently hanging out with Milky and Mildred, but he is absolutely adored by foster-friend Nurgle. Gemsam can be adopted with one of his foster friends, or he may make a good companion if you already have a lamb or two needing a buddy.

Gemsam will go to his new home with Wombaroo formula and a bottle to assist with the weaning transition. Like many wool-breed lambs, he’ll need annual shearing and crutching halfway through the year to keep him clean and comfortable.

Gemsam is available to a loving, pet-only home (no breeding, no meat), where his calm nature and unique story will be met with kindness, understanding, and the occasional ear scratch — funny ears and all.

Many thanks to Rebecca Lynne Creative for Gemsam's adoption photos.

Last Litter Fund Update!

Dear Bella was desexed today.

Some of our followers may remember 'The Cheese Puppies'. We have a last litter fund, where owners who surrender a litter of puppies can have their girl's spay paid for by the rescue. There's been a few personal things happening in Bella's owners' life which delayed the spay, but finally Bella was desexed today! Thank you to her owners who made things easy for us and also supplied this photo of groggy Bella on her way home.

For any other people with a litter of puppies, please feel free to get in touch to see if we can help support you. We are almost always able to take litters of puppies that are 6-10 weeks of age and arrange a spay of the mother.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our lamb care this season! We had a little lamby sick this week and we've spent over $700 on the five babies currently in our care in just the last three days. (Plus rescue dog expenses brings us up to $1200 in the same time period.)

We are still grateful for any more help from the community here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-orphaned-lambs-like-hannah-survive-and-thrive

Welcome to Leema Rescue, Lewd Bandit. This little boy is only 24 hours old, but that was long enough for his mother to decide she didn't want him! Lewd Bandit is lucky he had an attentive family of hobby farmers who made sure he was in safe hands.

We are just making sure Lewd Bandit is happy and healthy before we make him available for adoption.

To help lambs like Lewd Bandit, we have a fundraiser. We are about due to buy another bag of milk replacer and your help is much appreciated. To donate, please see: https://gofund.me/fa80e355

Twins - "Milky" (male) and "Mildred" (female)

Dohne Merinos

Good with dogs
Good with cats

Born on the 5th of June, 2025, Milky and Mildred have already shown just how strong and connected little lambs can be. When their mother fell ill shortly after their birth, these devoted twins stayed faithfully by her side. Sadly, she was no longer able to care for them, but their story took a hopeful turn when an attentive farmer stepped in.

The farmer brought the small family into the care of a stock rescuer, who worked hard to restore the ewe’s strength. After 24 hours, it became clear that the best chance for Milky and Mildred was to continue their journey with Leema Rescue while their mum remained in recovery. On the 7th of June, Milky and Mildred arrived into care, alongside their rescue companions, Tundra and Tuna.

Mildred is always the first to finish her bottle, and Milky isn't far behind! They’re closely bonded, often lying side by side and exploring the world together. They are bottle-fed and will go to their new home with Wombaroo formula and bottles to continue their feeding routine. These two are thriving — strong, social, and full of charm — and ready to find a forever home where they can continue to grow side by side.

As young wool-breed lambs, Milky and Mildred will need annual shearing and crutching at the six-month mark to keep them clean, cool, and comfortable.

Milky and Mildred are available together to a loving, pet-only home (no breeding, no meat), where they’ll be valued as more than livestock — as beloved companions with a shared story and a big future ahead.
