What started out as a chronicle of our journey to self sufficiency has now turned into our own small business growing and selling fresh produce to the local area where we live grown on organic principles.

LAKOTA PUMPKINS available for immediate purchase from $0.50c - $2.50ea depending on size.
These pumpkins will need shelf ripening for around 6 weeks before use and will keep up to 12 months if stored in a dry dark cool place.

BUTTERNUT PUMPKINS available for immediate purchase from $1 - $5ea.
These can be stored for future use and would be best if stored for a few weeks before using.
They are on the smaller size but like all our produce, they are grown pesticide free.

During the reconstruction of our garden beds (still ongoing) I managed to damage this one with the excavator we used to empty the beds with.
Not quite sure what we could do with it as the damage was deemed unrepairable, we've finally re-purposed it into a herb garden on the Easter wall of our house.
This required cutting off a section of approximately 200mm all the way around to remove the majority of the damage, along with reattaching the sections with new tek screws.
We've also added a simple watering system to make life a little easier.

While watering the gardens today, we found this behemoth of a Marrow (Zucchini), weighing in at 5.446kgs.
If anyone is interested in it, please drop us a line, you could literally feed your family and friends with it.

Apologies for not posting much lately, we've been busy with our full-time work and we still haven't finished rebuilding the garden beds.
Water has been an issue for us as we are completely reliant on rainfall which has meant we're limiting our garden watering.
Of course it's not all doom and gloom, we are still having good results with our Watermelons, Spaghetti Squash, Capsicums, Cherry Tomatoes and various berries

UPDATE
We've finally found enough time and good weather to begin the major overhaul and changes to our garden beds.
This was day 2 of the first stage, emptying all the beds and setting them aside.
Getting all this done means we can save on hiring the excavator a second time.
The next task will be cleaning up the entire garden area, getting rid of the weeds and stock piling all our garden mix soil.
A day of rest tomorrow and then we'll be back to work, our tractor earning its keep shifting all the soil and scraping the ground clear.
For now the round tubs will be staying where they are as we're hoping they don't need to be moved in the new layout.
