Happy 1st Birthday to my hand-raised poodle pups! 🐩 🩷🥳

This day last year, the whole poodle saga began. Little did I know just how much would happen after this day last year.

When Maisie (aka Cookie) came into our clinic, my mission was simple: help her deliver healthy puppies and keep her safe. One year later, her 2 pups are living their happily-ever-after lives with beautiful families who absolutely adore and spoil them—so different from where Maisie started out.

I still can’t believe those tiny jellybeans turned into the gorgeous dogs you see today. Honestly, I’m amazed every time I see them. And I see them a lot… because they’ve all been rehomed to some of my closest friends!

Happy Birthday, Poppie and Rua! It’s an absolute miracle you’re here celebrating your first birthday.
And to Maisie—Happy Ever After Day. Because even though this day last year was tough for you, it marked the beginning of your new life.
Also marked many sleepless year filled nights for me but it was all worth it!!

Meet & Greets required.

Adoption Fee: $350, which includes vaccinations, desexing, microchipping, and flea & worming treatments.

SHAGGY – Approximately 10 weeks old, Playful Male
Shaggy is an absolute sweetheart who purrs as soon as he sees you. He LOVES food and will vocalize his excitement when he spots the food bag. He’s very confident and would be well-suited to any type of home, whether there are kids or other pets. He’s had lots of interaction with my older cat and loves to play with him. A playful and affectionate little guy!

VELMA – Approximately 10 weeks old, Female
Velma is a sweet, shy girl who is a bit more timid than her outgoing brother. She’s come a long way since I first got her but can still get easily startled. Velma would thrive in a home with another confident cat to show her that not everything is scary. Once she’s comfortable, she absolutely LOVES cuddles and will happily sit on your chest for hours. She’s growing more confident every day and just needs a patient owner to continue building her trust.

Meet Mashie – the newest member of Moon’s Mission.

Everyone, say hello to Mashie! Affectionately named after mashed potatoes 🥔—because, well, just look at her!

At 10 years old, Mashie was put up for sale on Gumtree. A friend of ours—who has been involved in rescue for years and has worked with us on cases in the past—reached out for help. Of course, we couldn’t say no.

Her previous family loved her in their own way, but they didn’t realize just how much care she needed. For most of her life, Mashie lived outside, and as a pug, that meant years of untreated health issues.

Here’s what we’re up against:
🐾 A severely infected nasal skinfold that should have been cleaned daily—now teeming with bacteria and fungus.
🐾 Advanced dental disease requiring extractions—her painful, infected teeth have left her drooling constantly.
🐾 Possible scarring from untreated eye ulcers, needing urgent assessment.
🐾 Full-body X-rays to check for any hidden health concerns.
🐾 A complete blood panel to ensure she’s strong enough for surgery.
🐾 A veterinary weight loss plan—she’s at least 2kg overweight, putting extra strain on her little body.

We need to raise $2,500 to get Mashie the care she deserves.
Her treatment is scheduled for Wednesday, so we need to raise the funds urgently.

Since launching in December 2023, Moon’s Mission has helped 44 animals, but our funds are now running dry. We can’t do this without you.

Mashie deserves a loving, comfortable retirement, free from pain and neglect. Please, if you can, donate to her GoFundMe and help us give her the second chance she deserves.

Chelsea and Nugget’s Adventure to Dunsborough 🩷

Nuggz’s first holiday was a hit! He met lots of people, all of whom thought he was incredibly cute. Getting Nugget out and about and socialized at this age is so important. Introducing him to the world, along with all the new sounds and smells, will help him become a well-rounded dog. He literally came everywhere with us over the last couple of days—well, everywhere that was dog-friendly, which, thankfully, was most places in Dunsborough.

If anyone based in Perth hasn’t been to Dunsborough yet, I highly recommend it. We stayed in an Airbnb right in the heart of town, with the beach just 200 meters from our door. It was so lovely!

Meet Nugget, the newest member of Moon’s Mission and our little rescue family! 🥰
He’s a 14-week-old toy cavoodle.

I’m not sure what’s been happening over the past 12 months, but 9 poodles have come through Moon’s Mission – I think the universe is sending us poodles! 😅

The other 8 have all been rehomed to beautiful forever homes, but little Nugget is staying with us long-term (well, as long as he doesn’t upset Chelsea!).
Chelsea is currently in a good place with her spinal pain, so I want to make sure Nugget doesn’t cause her any unnecessary stress or discomfort.

So far Nugget has settled in really well. He gets along with the cats and chickens, and he’s absolutely obsessed with Dearg. He’s very unusually quiet for a puppy but let’s see what happens.

More kittens in need of homes! 😅

Over the past year, I seen a big increase in stray kittens being brought to the clinic I work at with nowhere else to go. Most times I step up to foster them, dedicating my time, love, and even my own money to give these little ones a chance at a better life. Right now, I have 3 kittens in need of forever homes.

First litter – our little spice squad:

🌶️ Ghost

These kittens earned their fiery names because they started out spicy—hissy, spitty, and unsure of humans. But with lots of TLC, they’ve transformed into affectionate, adventurous kittens ready to find their perfect homes.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas from our wonderfully special crew!

This year felt different from years past. While the house is still full of animals, it has been a bit quieter. Cheech’s passing brought an unfamiliar silence—Cheechy was the last of the three best friends that ever lived. There’s peace in knowing that Moe, Moon, and Cheech are now reunited.

Christmas is a time for joy and togetherness with family and friends, but it’s also a moment to honor those we’ve loved and lost. This year, our Christmas tree feels extra special, adorned with reminders of our most treasured souls.
