Did you know any club member who has attained a DogsNSW trialling title is eligible for a club plaque or medallion in recognition of their success and hard work?
Ask at the club house for a form or talk to Cheryl Blanch directly 🥰

Training is on this Sunday at 10am 🎉
It’s the first day for our September beginners - welcome! We recommend getting to the club at around 930 so you have plenty of time to grab your badge etc, find and settle in to your class.

New month also means a new corner post! Lots of interesting stuff including information from the AGM, our chief instructors report including upcoming handlers day details, what to do if you hit a roadblock in your training and sooooo many incredible successes of our members! Don’t forget to grab your copy - there will be some at the counter, new beginners will get it in your welcome bag and I’ll try and hand them out.

Other tidbits
- please follow the road rules when entering and exiting the grounds they are there for your and other drivers safety. It only takes a minute to go the correct way.
- there will be lots of new dogs so please be mindful of this when driving around the car park
- please make sure you park close to each other so we can maximise space
- I think the weather is meant to stay beautiful but if it changes Sunday mornings post will be updated if training is cancelled
- finally new dogs mean new dynamics please give other dogs space and always ask before letting your dog approach another. Never let your dog approach one that is tethered on a pole or wearing warning tape

If you have any other questions pop them below… looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Thank you to those that braved the weather today - apologies for the late cancellation. A big thank you to both Libby, Sally and Bruce who stayed and held a class for anyone who was still keen anyway.

As no promotions were held, everyone in upper green and above will remain in the same level until next month’s promotions. Those in yellow and lower green automatically move up. If you are in a motivational yellow class you will remain with your current instructor.

For non-motivational, yellow will move to lower green (against the far fence to the left of the tables) and lower green to upper green (far fence to right of tables) - hopefully that makes sense?

However, as it’s only been 2 weeks this month, you can choose between staying in lower green if you are not confident or going up to upper green (if you want to go up you can come grab a sticker to join upper green). Don’t forget anyone can drop down a level at anytime if you feel you need to practice more. You just can’t jump up a level.

Beginners start next week - if you are planning on joining us please jump on our website and sign up as soon as you can so we have time to process your membership. The website seems to be playing up a bit so if you get a black screen please just scroll down and it will show up. I promise it’s on our list of things to fix.

Hopefully that’s clearer than the mud from today - but you never know … happy to answer any questions pop them in the comments

Training is on tomorrow at 10am 😊
Wet weather - the 8am Sunday post will be updated with a time stamp if it is cancelled. Training will typically run unless extreme conditions so just bring along your wet weather gear and maybe your dog’s raincoats.
It’s promotions - this is where classes in upper green and above are assessed to see if they are ready to go up a level. You have been taught everything class so even if you aren’t sure you are ready come along and have a go you might surprise yourself and, even if you don’t pass, you’ll learn where you need to practice regardless.

Other tidbits
- careful on the road and make sure you comply with 10 kmph onsite and obey all road rules entering and exiting the grounds. They are there for your and other road users safety so saving that tiny bit of time by going the wrong way is not worth it.
- please pick up your dogs poo
- we have a new coffee machine at the canteen and it makes great coffee so why not pop down in the break and grab one!
- please check with the owner before approaching other people’s dogs and do not allow your dog approach dogs tethered on poles.

Anyhoo see you all tomorrow!

Interested in joining our next beginners intake?
We accept a new intake on the first Sunday of every month so it’s coming up soon…

What do I need to do? Go onto our website and register you and your dog online and then come along to the Sunday 1st September and you’ll be ready to start the exciting journey of learning new skills and basic obedience with your dog.

How much does it cost? It costs $30 to join as a member and then $5 a week. The initial course is 8 weeks and you can keep going and learn lots of wonderful skills and dog sports.

Why so cheap? Our club is run completely by volunteers and is not-for-profit. All of our volunteers instructors are trained and have substantial experience with training dogs. Our aim is to create a bond between you and your dog so you and your dog have the best chance of leading a happy life together!

How old does my dog need to be? Any dog over 4 months can come along provided they have completed all of their vaccinations. Proof of vaccination must be provided before you start.

My dog is older can they still join? Absolutely! We accept all ages and don’t believe the myth that you can’t teach old dogs new tricks - every dog at every age loves to learn new things!

So if you have been thinking you and your dog might benefit from some additional training - and let’s be honest with ourselves every dog and their owner can always benefit from more training- follow the link below and come join us on the 1st!

Feel free to send us a message if you have any questions 😊

Ps. If website link brings up a black screen just scroll down and it will show up 😊

New Members start on the FIRST Sunday of every month and must have completed the membership registration prior to starting.

Good luck everyone!

Training is on this Sunday at 10am!

Guess what? It’s that time of the month where you get to prove how far you and your dog have come and attend a promotions session to see if you are ready to go up a level!

Promotions only occur for levels upper green and above (yellow and lower green automatically get promoted at the end of the month). Getting promoted from Upper Green to Lower Red is essential to be able to enrol in our additional dog sport classes such as agility and scent work so it’s important to come along if you want to have a go at learning those great sports. You have been taught everything in class so we are sure you’ll be great!

Other news:
- road continues to be damaged so please keep to the speed limit and obey all road rules entering and exiting the grounds
- please (please…) pick up after your dog. We have bags placed all around the grounds if you have forgotten yours. I find having a bag in your pocket or treat bag all the time a really good idea so you are always ready
- don’t forget to not approach dogs tethered on poles or ones wearing warning tape. This is for your own dog’s safety. It is best practice to ALWAYS ask the owner before letting your dog approach theirs. Some dogs look cute and fluffy but….

Wednesday training is on tomorrow at 930 🎉
This is a mixed level instructor led revision class. To go up a training level you will need to attend a promotions assessment - which is this Sunday! So why not come along and polish up those skills you and your dog have been working so hard on?

It is $5 cash and starts at 930. Please sign in with your membership number and payment in the instructors shed before joining the class.

For those in lower red and above, we will also have a rally track set up if you’d like to learn more about the sport. There will also be more advanced instructor led training for people participating in trials (or planning to).

Looking forward to seeing you there!
