Here’s Chevy – she lives with a business of ferrets (yep, the collective noun is a business!), at Fuzzybutt Ferrets in Huonville.

She’s happily chowing down on some OT salmon skins – but she needs to get in quick because the ferrets love the salmon skin 🤩

Ferret breeders now recommend adding salmon oil to ferret diets (over duck fat/oil) because it’s better for the ferrets.

Say hello to the Fuzzybutt Ferrets Tasmania 😍

Yes that's right, ferrets love Omega Treats too!

Any ferret owner would know that ferrets need additional fat/oil in their diet. Salmon is full of 'good' oils and provides the necessary fatty acids to keep their hearts in good condition and fur healthy!

These cuties get sprinklings of the salmon crumb (leftovers from the Omega Treats freeze drying process) in their dinner and absolutely love it.

All Omega Treats are able to be crumbled on top of your pets meal for an extra health kick at dinner time 😋🐟

Overweight and obesity are rising issues amongst Australian men and women, but our furry friends are getting fatter too! 2021 Australian data reveals 40% of dogs are overweight and 7.6% are obese, with a similar incidence in feline obesity (Australian Veterinary Association).

While we all love to spoil our furry friends with a treat or two, over-feeding and lack of exercise can have a serious effect to their health.

🐾 How to help prevent animal obesity?

- Ensure your pet has an active lifestyle in relation to the needs of their size / breed
- Do some research on the amount to feed your pet in relation to their size / breed
- Conduct regular vet checkups to address any concerns

Today we take the time to remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her life-long devotion to duty.

It is also a well known fact that Her Majesty was a true animal lover. From her own huge array of Corgis, Dorgis, and Dachshunds, to her over 100 horses and her sponsorship of wild animals in London Zoo, the late monarch was a passionate about her furry friends and she will be sorely missed by many ❤️

As we head into Spring and early Summer, are you aware of the risks ticks can cause to dogs, outside cats or even yourself?

DID YOU KNOW:

✅ Recent research has shown that 90% of ticks attach to the FRONT THIRD of your pet (25% on head, 45% neck, 15% shoulder and forelimbs, 15% found on remaining two thirds of body)
✅ Australia is home to a number of tick species that are harmful (sometimes deadly) to your pets
✅ The paralysis tick venom leads to muscle paralysis, which can lead to life threatening situations
✅ If a tick is not removed properly, it's head can continue to cause damage inside a human or animal, even if the body has been removed.
