Update : Adopted 5/6/24

Daisy has such a quizzical look. Maybe she’s wondering how long she’ll have to stay at our Burnie Home? Only you, the Great Tasmanian Public, can give her the answer she seeks.

She’s a Beagle who weighs a dainty 11kg and will be a year old in September. We’re told she is toilet trained but hasn’t had any other training — thankfully she is young and enthusiastic and, with the Beagle love of food, should be an ideal candidate for treat-based training.

“Daisy is a very lovable, social pup who loves people, cuddles and playtime,” her information states. “She’s goofy and always wants your attention.”

This energetic, busy girl likes the Big Three of toys: rope, squeaky and soft. She’s playful and friendly with other dogs, so much so that staff say “she does not like to be returned to her pen and will always put on her brakes”. Girlfriend just knows her mind!

🐾 Questioning look
🐾 Lovable nature
🐾 Energetic girl
🐾 Needs training
🐾 Likes other dogs

Every dog is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has had a standard health check. Each dog has also been behaviourally assessed.

UPDATE: Heidi has been adopted 9/6/24 💞🐾

Here’s Heidi, the last of our litter of six Staffy x pups. She’s about 10 weeks old now and weighs a smidge under 6kg with plenty of growth ahead of her. She has been in foster care where the news is excellent.

“She’s slowly getting the hang of ‘sit’, ‘wait’ and ‘down’,” our carer says. “She likes chasing balls and squeaky toys the best although she is always on lookout for a sock!

“She is a big foodie and if you’re not paying attention, she will swipe food off you when sitting on couch. Her toileting is going great — she goes to door when she needs to go out, hasn't woken up at all during night for toilet and hasn’t had any accidents either!

“She really is a sweet little pup who has literally melted my 15-year-old’s heart! She will make an amazing addition to someone's family.”

Heidi is the right age to start her lifelong obedience and socialisation journey.
Puppy preschool is a fun way for her to begin upon that path.

**Update - Arlo has been adopted! 24/05/24**

Arlo looks so serious in his main picture we had to include an inset picture that tells a truer story about this fun fellow. Check another pic out in the comments.

He’s a Beagle-Spaniel x who weighs 17.5kg and will be a year old in June. He has had no obedience or toilet training.

“Arlo is very playful and lots of fun to be around,” staff at our Devonport Home say. “He's cheeky and goofy.”

He’s an energetic guy who loves a good long run. He’s also a fan of chest tickles and belly rubs.

Arlo hasn’t had much life experience, and hasn’t been around other dogs much. On top of his obedience training, he will need socialisation with other dogs, and humans of all shapes and sizes, to help him become a well-adjusted young man.

🐾 Just a youngster
🐾 Energetic fellow
🐾 Cheeky and goofy
🐾 Needs training …
🐾 And socialisation

🐾Victa has been Adopted on 1/6/24🐾 Victa is an unusual name — we’re sure this boy has absolutely no interest in lawn care whatsoever.

He’s a Greyhound who weighs 35kg and will be four years old in August. He hasn’t had much in the way of training, although we are told he comes when called.

“Victa is very friendly and loves to meet new people and other dogs,” Launceston staff say. “We call him twinkle toes because he prances on his toes when he walks!”

Foster carer Cassie says: “He is very happy to share his food, toys and bed with our Greyhound, Holly. He loves snuggles and pats but most of all he loves naps! He walks very well on lead and doesn't pull much but just happily trots along.

“Victa is an adorable snuggly goober with some amusing quirks who would make the perfect couch-potato addition to anyone's home.” If you look at our photos in the comments, you might also see that he’s made a name for himself as a bra thief.

🐾 “Adorable goober”
🐾 Friendly fellow
🐾 Loves people …
🐾 And other dogs
🐾 Needs training

UPDATE: Vanda has been Adopted 26.5.24 🧡🐾

Vanda looks both cheerful and cheeky! See another super-cute picture of him in the comments.

He’s a Mastiff x who weighs an impressive 44.5kg and will be six years old in December. We don’t have a lot of info on this boy. We do know he hasn’t had any training but we’re not certain if that includes toilet training. He’s quite the foodie so treat-based training may be the way to both his heart and mind.

“Vanda is sweet, friendly and cruisy,” staff say. “He is a settled dude with a big head.” No, really? We are told he has a placid nature and is good with other dogs — but not so great with livestock. We don’t know how he is with our feline friends.

UPDATE: 22/5/24: Baxter has been adopted :)

“Baxter is not the easiest puppy to get a pic of,” was the message from staff attached to his info. Hey, we think they did all right! We can certainly see how absolutely adorable he is. There's more pix in the comments.

Baxter is a Kelpie-Border Collie x with a very cute little white beard, who thinks shoelaces are the best fun in the world. He’s 10 weeks old and currently weighs 4kg now, but he’s still just a baby. He should grow up to be a medium sized dog.

Bax is ready and willing to start his obedience journey by learning some basic commands and working on his toilet training. He will need socialisation with dogs and humans of all shapes and sizes, and gentle introductions to all the thrilling adventures the wider world has to offer.
