Reduced Services.

We have always strived to ensure our clinic is able to provide some level of weekend care to our patients and were lucky enough to continue this service during the whole of COVID19.

However, due to staff shortages we have made the difficult decision to temporarily stop this service. This means that as of Saturday the 14th of September, we will no longer be open on weekends.

Though not made lightly, this decision was made to ensure that our remaining team on the floor does not experience burnout and is still able to provide exceptional care from Monday through to Friday.

Our current team shortages may also mean that at times we have to refer you to seek treatment elsewhere. Please keep in mind that wait times for appointments, follow-up phone calls, dispensed medications and surgical procedures may be increased. Although our resources will be limited over the next couple of months, we hope to return to normal working capacities once our team is fully staffed again.

Your understanding and compassion during these difficult times is greatly appreciated, and we hope to return to our normal working capacities soon.

Kind regards,
LVC Team

Here is your final chance to get in on some of our clinic offers as Dental Month comes to an end. Don’t miss out on a last minute entry for our Dental Month hampers! Competitions close on Saturday 31st August.

25/08/2024

ATTENTION ALL *SMILE COMPETITION ENTRANTS*

Unfortunately we’ve been informed that there is a scam account impersonating our clinic. This account uses our profile picture and acts under the name ‘Selection Winner’. The account comments on entrants images, announcing individuals as a winner. It then asks individuals to register, follow a link, and provide personal banking information.

This account has since been reported to Facebook Administrators. Whilst we wait for them to take action, we ask that people do not respond to this scam account or provide them with personal information. We encourage people to also report this account as a scam, in the hopes that the increased number of reports, will shorten the response time from Facebook Administrators.

Our clinic will be announcing the *Smile Competition Winner at the end of the month, and apologies for any inconvenience that this scam account has caused.

Kind regards,
LVC Team.

Our clinic has access to a new innovative injection that aids with arthritis in cats.

It is a biological therapy, that works similar to your cats own immune system. It targets and effectively neutralizes proteins that stimulate pain in cats.

The effects of this singular injection can alleviate pain for up to one month.

‘Arthritis’ in April

As it starts to cool down during this time of year, we thought it might be a good time to look and learn about arthritis in our pets. Over the next few weeks we will discuss some of the ways we can help manage symptoms and keep them as comfortable and mobile as possible.

What is arthritis?
Arthritis is the broad term used to describe ‘Joint Inflammation’. The most common form is associated with aging, and affects the majority of pets as they get older. Overall the signs and symptoms of Arthritis can be universal for both cats and dogs.

Common signs of arthritis?
- Reduced mobility, slowing down on walks
- Increased periods of sleep/lounging and taking longer to rise.
- Hesitating jumping on and off furniture/in and out of cars.
- Slowing or taking breaks when ascending and descending flights of stairs.
- Visibly limping, flinching, vocalizing or showing signs of aggression.
- Shorter periods of active play.
- Licking at joints.

Arthritis can occur naturally over time in our pets. Other factors which can impact the severity arthritis or an earlier appearance can be from injury/trauma, excessive weight, abnormal joint development, or predisposed breeds.
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll talk about what we can add into our pets daily routine to promote joint health. By managing arthritis, we can reduce its impact, and improve our pets quality of life.

** FOUND **

In the last 24 hours, we have had a Galah and a Budgie brought into the clinic. They were both found in the Geilston Bay/Lindisfarne area. We'd really love to get both of these guys back to their respective homes. All Galah's have distinctive pink and grey colouring, however we will be asking for identification information to ensure it goes to it's rightful owners. Correct colour of the budgie will need to be provided for identification.

Please help share this post to get them both home!
