Great to be involved in this ongoing project! The people of Norfolk Island must be very proud. Well done to all involved!

🚨 BIG NEWS FROM NORFOLK ISLAND! 🚨

We are incredibly proud to share that the first embryo calf has been born on Norfolk Island — a beautiful Hereford heifer calf! 🐮🌿

This is more than just a calf, it’s a major milestone for the island’s cattle industry and a huge step forward in strengthening local food security and future-proofing their beef herd. 🥩🌾

A project like this doesn’t happen overnight, it’s taken huge amount of planning, dedication, and collaboration. We need to give a massive shout-out to Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast, Holbrook Breeders Australia & Angus Australia. But also generous breeders who allowed us to use their donor females, without their contribution of genetics, this project would not have been possible. 👏 🙌

A huge congratulations to everyone involved, this is a win for the whole community and a great example of how agriculture can work hand-in-hand to address real-world challenges.

With 902 implanted embryos, this extensive DATA SET provides valuable insights into the efficiency of advanced reproductive technologies.

The wait is finally over! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that our first IVF calves are starting to be born as part of our initial embryo production. The first two calves arrived early, born 10 and 9 days before their due date on December 4th, weighing 40kg and 34kg, respectively. 🐄✨

We’re also excited to share that pregnancy testing on our early spring IVF implants (approx. 750 implants) has been incredibly positive, with an impressive average success rate of 61% (fresh and frozen), ranging from 46% to 72%.

Most importantly, we’re very pleased with the consistency of these results.
