We arrived safe n sound down south after delivering a few packages on our way home. We had the most wonderful time away with great friends, hanging with beautiful doggies and meeting new people.
We are super proud of performances by Stolzerhund Dare to Dream (Dee Dee), 3rd Saturday, 2nd Sunday winning Reserve Challenge Bitch LSC. Stolzerhund Mysterious Times was 4th Saturday and 2nd Sunday, Minor Bitch SC. A huge thanks to Joanne and Gary who handled our girls beautifully on both days.
Many thanks to: my amazing husband John, who made our trip to Melbourne possible (Now he has been to 2 whole dog shows in the time I've been showing Shepherds) and to Jan Brabham our amazing friend with a heart of gold, generous and giving. It is an honour to share the success of Smokey with great friends Jan, Linda J Hume, who sadly had to stay in Adelaide this time and Robyn Smalbil who is out of the country.🛩 Congratulations to Linda on sweetie little Vee Vee's results. 🎊🐾💜
Super satisfying weekend with many laughs. Oh, I must not forget to thank Lyn Phillis and Jamie Phillis for looking after the south side of Adelaide for us 🤣🤣

Roxy has found her new home.
As a registered ANKC and reputable breeder I take responsibility to assist rehoming any dogs I breed, regardless of their age. I am privileged to be able to assist Roxy's mum since her circumstances changed.

What a cutie!
Roxy is a beautiful, outgoing, sociable, 17 week old, pedigree female German Shepherd. She is fully vaccinated and health checked too. Roxy wants to be your best friend and companion.

Sadly, her current Mum's circumstances have changed and Roxy must find her new home.

If you have GS experience (preferably) and feel you will be able to give Roxy an amazing home, please contact Louise from Stolzerhund Kennels for further information.

Home must be in SA.

Please DM for contact details.

Don't buy from backyard breeders!

Whilst the pups all over Gumtree and Facebook from backyard breeders may not look as suspicious as these cuties, the premise is the same:

🐾 You don't know what you are truly buying (health, genetics & temperament).
🐾 People will lie to make a quick dollar.
🐾 There is no guarantees or anyone to hold backyard breeders responsible when things go wrong (or you discover you accidentally took home a hyena).

Despite these 2 pups, we want to reassure you, this isn't a laughing matter... 😉

To STOP Backyard Breeding, we need to STOP supporting and buying from backyard breeders.

Stolzerhund Dare to Dream aka "Dee Dee" (Sire: Alwin Vom Haus Nesgen A Ed Dam: *Stolzerhund Miss Tique AZ BSCL) who was placed 4th on the pegs, in the Intermediate LSC Bitch class at the 63rd Members Competition under Matt Morris (NSW). Thanks to Baylie Mercer who handled Dee Dee beautifully and to Linda who has the 'call' perfectly pitched.

Too much too soon WILL cause issues.
It is a really common occurrence with newly adopted dogs.

Congratulations on your new dog.
I know you want to take them to the beach, the pet store and your café....however can I ask for a few minutes so I can explain just what your dog has gone through.....and why you need to take the next few weeks SLOW.
Your new dog has had it's whole world turned upside down.
They don't know you.
They don't know if they can trust you.
They don't know if they are with you for an hour or forever.
They may have been in various scary places.
Other houses, rescues, the pound and likely ALL of these in the past few days or weeks.
Your dog has stress hormones surging through their brain, they are STRESSED....they need to decompress, they need STABILITY in their environment and from you.
They need time with you and their new environment.
They need to know that the tree outside may rustle against the house and that's OK.
They need to know that those normal creaky noises in your house are OK and that at 3.45 the neighbours bang their door shut.
They need to know when it rains that tapping sound is OK.
They need to know that when the door opens they won't be moved somewhere else again.
They need to trust that YOU are safe even when you have had a bad day, you will still give them food and that they can close their eyes around you.
You know what your good intentions are with your new dog, your dog however has NO idea what is happening.....only that everything has changed and it is scary.
They do NOT need other new environments yet. Take it SLOW.
Dogs that have just been adopted need TIME. There is no need to rush out the next day and take them to all the places you want to go with them.....They need the opposite.
Let them decompress, let them inspect a new area of your house or yard every day or two. Walk them up and down outside your house for a few days (and only there), let them sniff, and sniff some more. Let them p*e freely.....it may be boring for you, but not for your dog. They need to know what is happening around them and they learn that through their nose, eyes and ears.
They NEED this.
They need to learn to TRUST you.
The long walks can wait, the café will still be there in a few weeks and you can visit the pet shop alone until they are ready.
Your bond together is the MOST important thing to concentrate on right now.
You will never regret taking it slow and it can save your dog and yourself from making the very same mistakes that can lead to people rehoming in the first place.
All the very best with your new dog.
