Elle
Bye beautiful Elle, many happy adventures I’m sure ahead of you with your mum 🩷
Bogged
Me accidentally getting bogged 😬
Bit of girl power and we got it sorted
Lincoln
Zoom zoom- always needs to race me

Think it’s been well over 5years since I’ve had a liberty play with my little Pony. The beautiful boy remembered the things I taught him back then when I acquired him as a feral scared pony. He wouldn’t be caught and was worried of people. Was living in the Pilbara and was going to be shot 😳 long story short i got the boy and put a bit of a liberty handle on him, so I could whistle him and he catch me in the paddock. (I refuse to chase any of my horses around- they all come running to my whistle) And got him going under saddle. My horses love nothing more than to be wasted with me, being paddock puffs, enjoying the fine life and getting worked spontaneously when I catch a moment to find the time to play or god forbid ride 😬
Spice
Just taking spice out for a stroll scaring the horses 😂
Fresh sheets
Nothing beats a fresh clean stable to come into and mess up for the morning 😂
Tuesday trims
Everyone loves Tuesday Trims with Canniford Farriers
Facilities
New palony arrived for starting. Have you ever wondered what the accommodation is like when your horse comes here for training? This is it. Reticulated grassy paddocks, and a nice big WIWO. It’s important to me that when your horse isn’t learning it’s relaxing and having good quality horsey grazing time.
Run and a play
The highlight of his day. Feeding the ponies and going for a sling run after
42deg
Hope everyone stayed cool today 🥵 been a hot few days. Glad these guys got hydrated 💗
Fanta
Just getting ready for Friday 🇦🇺
3rd ride
3rd ride for this boy with a mix of longreing out in between, a day off here and there so they can soak it in, but also learn having days off doesn’t mean you come back into work like you haven’t done anything. If you teach them out of the ordinary is normal. Then normal will be 🥱🥱 the world isn’t perfect, things happen out of our control, and if something ever does happen I want to know I’m not going to go splat. I don’t think I bounce anymore. And I don’t want to find out. I’ve made it to nearly 41 doing some pretty crazy stuff on horses. I want to last another 40years. Here’s a little insight to some of the saddle prep I do on these young ones.
Arab gelding
Following on from the other day, this is the boys second longreining session yesterday. A lot of positives from the first session. We had a nice forward. Rhythm will come with confidence, and when he knows more about what is going on. I never want to overwhelm these guys with micro managing. We’ve built on the day before and we are starting to soften in the mouth with slight contact, turning is softer and we are coming back to the walk after turning. And we had wetness both sides of the mouth. Really enjoying working with this boy, and having Lilly video the daily progress
Dusty
First time out of the round yard into the arena to test our rhythm, forward, and turning at a trot.
Arab mare
Working with this very sweet and very sensitive mare. Any form of pressure or scary noises she would want to check out. We are wanting her to seek us for the answer, and no that not everything is out to get her. A brave horse to me is one that’s ultimately scared and worried, but tries their hardest to face the task or whatever it is that they are afraid of. Friday I went through with her to teach her to face up and come into me. With the hot weather over the weekend she had that time to think about that. This morning when I worked her I just let her loose and she followed me around. So I thought I’d apply the scary things. (Tarp I just introduced today) bags on a whip she already knows, and the ball once which she’s not all still sure about 😂 the change in this mare from Friday and today was wonderful to see 💗
I always get videos to send to my clients to show them how their horses are going. Thought I’d share one here with one of the things I do as part of their training. A very simple little thing that can be done once a bend and softness in the face is established, with some desensitising work if your horse is quite touchy etc. I always make sure I have control of the shoulder and hindquarters as well so if the horse does react to this I have control of the situation and can help him through it without him getting a scare from the rope, or me getting run over.
When your stable hand comes to you all worried saying - “ Jaaaacintaaaaa, there’s a really scary big track leading into the hay shed” I realise what it was straight away and laughed 😂😂
(Every morning I sling walk Frankie, and it’s his stiff foot that drags in the sand hehehehe)
Beautiful day for a ride around the property
2day liberty clinic. Some videos of the wonderful ladies and their beautiful horses 💗
Some mark training in the morning of day 2.
