If you have a microchipped pet, especially one that has been adopted from a rescue agency or the RSPCA, please take the time to read the information below regarding the potential closure of the HomeSafe ID micro-chip company.
I am pleased to reassure anyone who has had an animal chipped at our clinic, that we utilise the Australasian Animal Registry and your Pets will not be affected by this change.
This situation is still unfolding, but as we are so aware of the importance of microchips, we would like to bring this to your attention now, and encourage you to ensure your pets details are correct and current and lusted with an active registry .

If your pet was registered with Home Safe ID, your information may not be available online and your ownership details listed on their microchip will no longer be found, making it difficult to reunite them with you if they are lost.

Here's what you can do:
🐕Search PetAddress using your pet's microchip number petaddress.com.au
🐈‍⬛ If your pet's details are with HomeSafeID, apply to register your pet with one of the Microchip Registry services below (please note a fee may be charged)
🐦 If your pet's details are not with HomeSafeID, no further action is required.

- Central Animal Registry - car.com.au | 03 9706 3187
- Australasian Animal Registry - aar.org.au | 02 9704 1450
- Global Micro Animal Registry - globalmicro.com.au | 02 8338 9063
- Petsafe - petsafe.com.au | 02 8850 6800

One of Australia's five microchip and registry companies has stopped operations, warning its website is "likely to go offline".

Looking for a change in your nursing career ?
Howard Springs Vet Clinic is looking for an enthusiastic vet nurse to join our team. (Full time position)
We are a purpose-built, mixed practice clinic that caters to all animals, our main patient base being dogs and horses.
This is not a clinic where you will be stuck on reception or cleaning all day. Our nurses take x-rays and do CT scans, monitor anesthetics, perform routine dental scale and polishes, blood draws and placing animals on fluids in preparation for surgery.
Working with us, you will assist and often scrub into a range of surgeries including TPLOs, fracture repairs, laparoscopes, endoscopes, and ex laps, as well as a variety of equine surgeries including arthroscopes, geldings and gastroscopes.
You will also have the opportunity to work alongside visiting equine specialist surgeons.
We have the latest equipment and our new, state of the art equine surgical facility, with CT scanner (suited for both small and large animals), is taking the practice to the next level!
We are looking for someone who is passionate, hardworking and wants to provide gold standard care to our patients.
You must work well in a team and have excellent customer service skills.
You do not need to have equine experience or experience with our equipment but you must be motivated and willing to learn.
Ideally, we are looking for a fully qualified nurse, however we will take experience into account.
If you are interested please send a resume and cover letter to [email protected], call us on (08) 8983 1458, or come in and talk to our team.

Exciting times ahead at Howard Springs Vet!
During our recent in-depth training on the use of our new CT scanner we were fortunate to have the opportunity to scan one of our local crocs 🐊!
On a more serious note, we look forward to soon be able to offer this service to any pets in the Top End in need of more complex imaging of medical conditions.
