Arthritis Awareness month is coming to end 🩺
We have appointments available this week to check your pets mobility and discuss arthritis treatment options 💙
💙Arthritis Awareness💙
This June, we are focusing on arthritis awareness! Did you know that osteoarthritis affects:
🐶 80% of dogs aged 8 and onwards
🐱 90% of cats aged 12 and onwards
This condition can be quite painful and is often worsened by cold weather, rest or strenuous exercise. If your furry friend is slowing down or you’re worried about their mobility, now is the time to book in for a consultation.
Details on our arthritis awareness package below 💙

How many can you count?
Whether you are a cat person, a dog person, a rabbit person or even a bird person, there’s one certain thing that all animal lovers can agree on, and that is the fantastic work that is carried out by veterinarians in care of animals!
World Veterinary Day takes place each year on the last Saturday in the month of April.
Lets all for this special day, raise a paw, hoof or claw to say thank you to the local veterinarians. 💙
Our clinic will be closed tomorrow for Anzac Day.
If you require urgent care, please call AES on 1300 302 912 and they will assist you and your pet.

Say Hi to Deedee! 😃
Deedee is a Chinese crested dog with the sweetest personality.
Chinese Cresteds are known for their affectionate and playful personalities. They love to cuddle and play with their owners, and they make great companions for people of all ages.
With our hot weather wave this week, here are some safety tips for keeping your pets as safe as possible ☀
💧KEEP YOUR PET HYDRATED
Dehydration can be very dangerous for pets during the hot weather. Dogs and cats need water just as much as people do.
Make sure your pets always have access to plenty of fresh water and know where to find their water bowls around the house.
🏠 KEEP YOUR PET INDOORS
if possible! We understand some pets can’t be inside, if they are outside, it’s important to provide your pet with a cool, shaded area.
🚘 NEVER LEAVE YOUR PET INSIDE A CAR
Even with the windows down and air conditioning on, pets can overheat in cars in as little as 6 minutes.
🔥BEAT THE HEAT
Avoid walking your dog in the middle of the day. If the ground is too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pets paws. Did you know that animals have a limited ability to deal with the heat? If you think it’s a hot day, it’ll be even warmer for your cat or dog, with their hot fur coats.
It's official. Our next BIG event.
We hope you can come. It should be an absolute blast.
For more information and up to date information please go to our Trivia Night event at the top of our page.

🎈 To our valued clients, we will be CLOSED Monday the 12th of February for the Royal Hobart Regatta Day.
Should you require any veterinary assistance in this time please contact AES on 1300 302 912. 🎈
There will be fireworks at the Hobart Regatta grounds Sunday evening.
Fireworks can be very scary for our fury friends! A few things to make sure they feel as safe as possible are:
🎆 Bring animals inside where possible
✨ Lock gates and make sure your yard is secure
🎆Close windows and blinds
✨Turn TV, music or the radio on
🎆Distract with treats or toys.
Wishing you all a safe and happy long weekend. :)

Have you adopted a new family member over the new year? Be sure to know your obligations under the Cat Management Act 2009:
🔖Identification Matters! Ensure your cat is microchipped or if it is less than 4 months older make sure it wears a secure collar with an ID tag.
✂ Desexing your cat is important! If your cat is over 4 months of age, it must be desexed. This prevents unwanted litter and ensures the health of your new family member for years to come.

Miss Abbie here visited us recently for a dental procedure with Dr Henry.
Did you know most pets by the age of 3 have some form of dental disease. Daily brushing is the best form of dental hygiene for long-term prevention of dental disease for your pets.
