“Penrice” has been a part of our mum’s family for many years. The farm was originally a cattle property but after our grandfather retired the property was subdivided and moved into sugar cane. The name “Penrice Park” was named by our great grandmother and we thought it suited perfectly. Eight years ago Kimberley & Megan decided to try it on their own and moved onto the Penrice farm together with their horses. The four acre property located on the outskirts of Ingham has been transformed to suit their equine lifestyle over this time with facilities improving each year. Both Kimberley & Megan compete regularly in Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing travelling as far as Brisbane to Cairns. Our horses range from Warmbloods, Andalusian’s and Thoroughbreds and in the last year we have started to breed our own Penrice Park youngsters for the future. Penrice Park is also home to three miniature horses this becoming a new interest for Megan & Kimberley over the last year. All miniatures started their show careers in 2014 and were successful from Charters Towers to Tully in each class. The faces of Penrice Park
Kimberley Russo: has been riding since she was 12 years old and started out with mustering on our parent’s property, horse sporting and trail riding. A few years later she started Pony Club at Herbert River and this is when her passion for competing and training started. When Kimberley finished school she decided to be a Jillaroo furthering her education out west to becoming an accomplished trainer and young horse starter. Kimberley completed her Level 1 Pat Parelli and has a natural way with horses on the ground getting the most out of them. She is also a Level C Pony Club Instructor, NCAS, accredited, blue card holder and a Preliminary Level Dressage Judge. Unfortunately a serious car accident ended Kimberley’s career as a Jillaroo and she returned home to start training horses with Megan at Penrice Park. Kimberley has placed at a State Level for Showjumping and Dressage and has completed successfully locally at dressage and Showjumping. She also provides lessons for many locally children in the area with many of her students having excellent results. Kimberley also does all of our farrier work at Penrice Park. Megan Bourne: has been riding since she was 10 years old and started out the same way as her older sister. Megan however continued to work in Ingham after finishing school and furthered her education in the dressage arena with weekly lessons in Townsville. Megan is best known for her horse “Daddy’s Dollars” not only for his name but of his achievements to date placing top five in the state on many occasions in Dressage, Combined Training and Eventing. Megan is also a Level C Pony Club instructor, NCAS Accredited, Blue card holder and Preliminary Level Dressage Judge. Carole Russo: Our Mum is our rock and without her none of this would have been possible. She taught both of us to ride and ultimately started our passion and dream to have our own equine property and competition horses. You will find our mum running after us at competitions, calling tests, walking courses, giving advice and generally making our lives better. She is the best cook in the world and we never go hungry while travelling. Our facilities: includes 7 undercover stables with 2 having walk in/out day yards, 20m round yard, a 40x20m grass arena with lights, undercover wash bay, 5 paddocks with each having access to a stall and a sick paddock. We also tow our horses around in style with our three horse PBL gooseneck which is set up with a shower, kitchen and everything else we could ever need.
