The babies start to leave home tomorrow. We will be very sad to say goodbye but the excitement of their new homes is infectious 🥰
A lovely walk with the babies this afternoon exploring 🥰
Not graceful but they’ve got the idea 😂
Apparently chicken necks are a hit. Not sure that they need to be eaten in bed though kids!
The big debate - To Tail or Not To Tail, THAT is the question........... 🫣😆
One of the traits that make Aussies different to other breeds, is the bob tail trait. Many of the puppies are born with varying length tails, from very short bob tails, to half tails, to 3/4 tails, to "can'ttellit'snotafull" tail.
Overwhelmingly the majority of requests are for full tailed puppies. Which is fine, we all have preferences.
Out of curiosity, I ask some folks why they have the preferences they do, and the response is usually that they like to see a wagging tail. I love all of the puppies regardless of their tail length, but personally, for me, the baby bear bums that twerk their happiness are the cutest 😃
Now as a breeder, it's very hard to breed babies to order, and I would urge anyone considering a purchasing a puppy (from anywhere 🙂 ) to consider the other tail lengths. The half and 3/4 tails wag well, they probably do less accidental clearing the table and slapping small people in the face 😆 and the short bob tails do a full bum wiggle that is adorable. So if your concern is that you will not be able to gauge the level of your dog's happiness without a full tail, let me be the first to assure you that you will absolutely never be in any doubt, no matter their tail length.
I'd love to see the happy furkids - please share those wagging/wiggling Aussie backends of any tail length below ❤
