Jamberoo Superoos held their annual presentation night on Saturday night, where a crowd of around 125 people celebrated a hugely successful season, particularly for our Ladies League Tag teams, who both made the grand finals.
The crowning achievement came to our Division 2 ladies who accounted for Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs 12-4 in a hugely entertaining grand final, while the Div 1 ladies found the undefeated Bulldogs too hot on the day but never gave up and battled right till the end.
Unfortunately the injury-racked men’s teams struggled, with an indication being that they used a mammoth 29 players in first grade during the season, with 13 players making their first grade debuts.
The awards on the night were:
Ladies Div 2; Best defender Taylah Spaccavento, Best attacker Jaye Lacey, Players’ Player Kiara Vassoler, Player of the Year Jaye Lacey and Player of the Finals Stella Casey. Ladies Div 1; Best defender Zoe Crane, Best attacker Loagan Garrett, Players’ Player Loagan Garrett, Player of the Year Zoe Crane and Player of the Finals Bronte Girdler.
Under 18s; Best Forward Zane Milnes, Best Back Mackay Jones, Players’ Player Luke Jazprizza and Player of the Year Jake Wilkins. Third Grade; Best Forward Shane Grant, Best Back and Players’ Player Dylan Adams and Player of the Year Beau Castledine.
In Reserve Grade captain Zane Kember absolutely cleaned up, taking out Best Forward, Players’ Player and Player of the Year, while Aidan Dickerson won Best Back.
First Grade, Best Forward Brock Skelly, Best Back was captain Nathan Gallestegui, Players’ Player Cameron Brabender and Player of the Year Jake Clarke. Riley Plekan and Zacchariah Rippon were joint Rookies of the year.
Presentations were made to our 13 first grade debutees; Riley Plekan (who was the only player to play every game), Zahariah Rippon, Harry Gudgeon, Isaac Jones-Astone, Jake Wilkins, Luke Carey, Zane Kember, Robie Hodgson, Jedd Ross, Lachlan McInnes, Hayden Gee, Riley Davis and Ruairi McNamara.
Corey Grigg and Cameron Brabender were given commemorative jumpers for reaching 100 games, Alicia Doolan for 200 games, Brendan Dallas for 250 games Jono Dallas for 350 games while Jeff Chaplin joined the club’s list of Life Members, joining Brendan and Jono Dallas who were inducted earlier this year.
The popular Adam McDonald was awarded Clubperson of the Year, while Jake Clarke won the Kevin Walsh Memorial Trophy as the club’s Player of the Year.
